Is Ariana Grande okay?

I know Reddit can be a cesspool but there's a lot of comments there concerned about her health.

 

 

She was always pretty thin like when she did Rain On Me.  She does look though what can be considered fragile.

I am not even a fan, but whoever persuaded her into touring and dropping new music needs to be shafted from her team.

She is not well at all. Those tour shots are hard to look at tbh.

This girl has a massive platform, meaning so many young fans look to her as inspo, which is also concerning.

I've seen photos online but I've also seen videos of her new tour. Does anyone else thing people are editing photos to make her seem thinner?

Yeah I agree, because ive watch many videos and while she looks very thin, its not like what people online are saying, and shes energetic and acting normal on stage. Sure, she might have an eating disorder, but I dont think there is anything serious as of now. It also doesnt help that she intentionally go for pale colors and makeup and bleached eyebrows.

I've seen a few that were obviously edited, but have also seen enough photos by now (in addition to the ones she has posted herself in the past year) that I would share the same concern as others. I do believe she has good people on her team helping her stay healthy while touring because it is a lot for anyone, not to mention any pre-existing anxiety that touring probably induces in her.

It seems to me that she is having a hard time --- maybe in part because millions of people are scrutinizing her appearance and weight. 

It's normal for people to go through various phases of weight loss and gain, emotional turmoil and peace. 

We gotta let her do her thing without adding to the problem.

Yeah, that’s what strikes me the most about this convo. It’s not that it’s *wrong* to express concern, it’s the fact that people are not only speaking with so much certainty/authority about what she’s going through without really knowing and some going as far as to say it’s “disgusting” and that she’s setting a bad example. Like if you actually gave a **** about someone suffering from an eating disorder, you wouldn’t pile on and cast such harsh judgement. If she’s unwell, I hope she has people near her who can support her, but people def have to be more mindful about how they’re talking about her body.

We also need to remember that people who are struggling should not be put away from society. Her struggle shows in her physical body, unlike most of us which our struggles are hidden. Shes allowed to struggle in public without society attacking her.

She's very clearly unwell. I'm seeing a lot of people using the 'never talk about a woman's body' rhetoric but honestly I think in this context it's dangerous. It's never healthy when you can see someone's entire sternum, backbone, when their temples are hollowing out. She seems weak on this tour. Someone close to her needs to step up. But when people are in the throes of ED (if that's what it is) they often push away people who try to help them. We don't know what's going on with her. She could also be sick, but I know that she's seeing the comments, and I'm sure she would've addressed it by now if she were. Also a lot of the pics she's been uploading recently are body checks.. anyone familiar with ED knows this. It's sad to watch and god I hope she gets help and fast

And also a sidenote, people are noticing that Cynthia seems to have recovered, refuses to talk about Wicked now, and they don't seem to be in contact anymore. This is also common for people with EDs to go through. They are in it together, but if one wants to recover they have to cut ties with the one who doesn't want to, otherwise they just trigger each other and recovery is impossible

I firmly believe that in years time stories will come out of the wicked filming experience. 

Like there's just so many red flags from that period of time.

I get what everyone's saying, but I'm not so sure the set of Wicked is completely to blame. I feel like this problem was already brewing, and the pressure of getting such a big role, mixed with all the rumours and bad press about Ariana's divorce and also being a 'homewrecker' just triggered it. I also think the proximity and codependant relationships that arose from very specific conditions, between Ariana and Cynthia and even Michelle Yeoh, created a group ED effect where they triggered each other constantly. That's literally what happens in friend groups where multiple people are struggling, it almost becomes competitive. It's not like there are all these crazy stories about what happened on set, we just witnessed 3 women becoming very thin over a couple years
