I don’t follow UK politics as much, but I feel like there is always someone resigning there

I do but also don’t see the point in him resigning since Burnham isn’t gonna do much better and unless someone actually stops immigration and deports anyone who’s not white the country is never gonna be satisfied. We’ve had these weird racist concerns since even EYE was a child.

Burnham will do better simply because he's a better politician. He understands the system & how to communicate with the public.

I don't expect significant policy shift. But there will be a poll bounce for Labour simply by Starmer resigning & Burnham is a much better stump speaker than Starmer ever was.

Labour being Starmer free will be enough for them to bounce back to the low 20s in the opinion polls & will increase pressure on Farage who is increasingly drawing the ire of his funders.

Is he the better choice of the two? Sure. But he’s only better because of the reception to Stamer’s Digital ID policies. He in my opinion still won’t do what politicians need to be; be honest about austerity which was caused by Margret Thatcher that kick started everything and was then furthered by David Cameron, which is the real reason for every major problem politicians focus on in the country. Not the fault of immigrants or trans people. And then social problems being stoked by Farage when he was in UKIP. No politician seems to be brutally honest (except Polanski ) about all those things.

But tbf I lost faith in our politics years ago since i realised much like America we have a two-party system essentially. And even when we had a coalition — Tory views took priority to Lib Dem’s bells they were too soft.

I mean Burnham's entire pitch since the start of the year has been calling out the stagnation of the UK caused by the last 40 years of political rule.

So while I do agree anyone expecting significant change are deluding themselves. I think you've missed what Burnham's platform is being built on.

I think I just have no faith in any centrist parties anymore (which labour is) because they don’t run with clarity anymore. Hence why I’m voting for Polanski at the next election. Because he’s clear and honest about all his policies and concerns about austerity, climate change, defence and queer rights — which are my priorities right now.

I'm usually hyperinvested in leadership changes but this just feels so redundant and useless. I'm over Labour.

It's insane how many PMs the UK has gone through in such a short period of time

A lot of UK politics needs an overhaul tbh. We’re too much following US political models and using them and the trickle down standard and social media lies play too much into it. People also hide behind what they REALLY mean.

For example demanding lower immigration (which has dropped under Stamer — but they refuse to believe) but what they REALLY mean is they want rid of anyone not white in the country. But they’re scared to say that out loud because they know it makes you a bad person and a racist. Like the weirdos who say we’re a “minority” in our own country despite the fact non-white people make up less than 15% of the country (an actual minority).

This is why I'm over it and very apathetic. Anything they do just feels doomed to fail, so what's the point. Might as well everybody migrate across to the Greens, an actual party of the left so we can organize some actually effective opposition to Reform.

The Greens align more with me anyway.

I always find it ironic that people complain that politicians arent good in the country BUT they are also against socialism and communism which would get rid of us having no government or establishment. So you can’t have it both ways lol
