Killah Requiem had so much potential but it sounds like a mess. The vocals sound shaky (probably due to vocal effect), there’s too much happening. I like its electronic instrumental and the way she rocks that synth A LOT, but it doesn’t work that well with the rest of the band and chosen effects.  There’s something off. I think either ditching the vocal distortion or making it even more electro-industrial would work better, like here:

 

I’m still hyped af she’s interpolated Closer, I’ve been an og gaga-nin truther ever since she dropped this snippet and it reminded me of nin’s Piggy:

Honestly I agree about Killah on REQUIEM and I say that as someone who’s a huge fan of the song and of REQUIEM. My biggest gripe is honestly abandoning the funky component, especially given that it’s clearly referencing Closer, which has that sexy bass groove at the core of it. I don’t think the melody works as well over the REQUIEM arrangement without something that would reflect the glammy groove of the original. I love the energy of it overall and think it’s very good, but the original mops it with ease.
