zevthepaparazzo 2,358
I always thought that trends in music and fashion take 20 years to have a resurgence (LG in the 2000s making 80s esque synth pop, the current obsession with the 2000s) But now, a lot of music from 2010-2015, only half the usual amount of time, is beginning to become popular again Beauty and a beat Lush life The one that got away Just to name a few These songs should have their comeback in the 2030s I thought that everyone thought that the 2010s were cheugy and that Y2K was THE thing, so why is this the case? Anything goes!
artdoll 47,086
I'd say it's a combination of nostalgia and more people discovering older songs thanks to streaming and social media. Not that long ago a song from the early 60s went viral because of tiktok alone so anything's possible tbh! 。゚☁ glued up, sometimes it's too much ☁ ゚。
Bronco 23,084
Recessioncore is having a comeback because we're living through its successor. But serious answer. The whole 20 years thing was basically the concept that the children who grew up with that music reach maturity and start making their own music which charts & makes the sound cool again. Singers used to get out the doors earlier but if you look at the driving force in pop music at the moment. The main driving forces are all young millenials/gen z elders like Charli, Sabrina, Taylor etc. Its not young talent that's doing particularly well. Even "newer" acts like Olivia Dean is having her breakthrough at 27 - Gaga was 22 by comparison. And its partly because labels aren't investing in young talent. If they can't have a quick string of hits they get locked out. Olivia & Billie are the only under 25 yr old big names atm that I can think of. MarvinGa 673
I wish some of Gaga’s 2010’s deep cuts get the treatment too. Monster, Heavy Metal Lover, Sexxx Dreams and Venus deserve their moment in 2026.
River 126,051
It's many reasons, but consider that young gen z and old gen alpha are teenagers now 14-17, so they discover the 2010s music, just like when the teenager Millennials had a 80s-90s discovery at these ages. So sploosh your juice all over me you Riverboy
