Still like Bandaids more but I do like how the instrumental builds throughout the song into the outro which sounds great, I still am not a huge fan of the vocals in the chorus though, maybe it'll be a grower 

Leagues better than anything on 143 (except maybe Wonder) but that's not much of a hurdle to clear lol

Saying this when most of the forum also actively shits on Gaga, and most of the long standing members all have more varied taste than people who joined after 2018 is a choice.
 

And besides Katy absolutely deserves it even if only for the fact she chose to work with Dr Luke again and still to this day won’t apologise for it and refute him — look at her Call Her Daddy interview where she does political level diversion to victimise herself. At least Gaga apologised and refuted her work with R Kelly.

Every time she releases something I remember the thing she said at the end of her Vegas residency about people not deserving her in her KP6 era if they weren't there for her during Witness and Smile, only for KP6 to flop even harder  I want the confidence she had before releasing 143... She really thought she was gonna get a hit from that album

It’s not the worst song but it doesn’t feel like a comeback. 

say what you want about Katy, both “Never Really Over” and “Harleys in Hawaii” deserved to be big hits and if they had been maybe the album that became “Smile” would have ended up better. And with “143” they didn’t learn, they just doubled down on the crap.

Maybe she needs new management? But then again, she’s also apparently streaming better numbers than she ever has?

She’s had such a wild and consistently confounding career and this new song only adds to that confusion for me, lol.

Honestly the only good singles she’s had in the last like 13 years has been Lifetimes, followed by When I’m Gone maybe. She should go have a hiatus imo and go back to her pop-rock routes from her early days (not like this song either) and honestly pull a Joanne and “pull back” or experiment and make something out of the box.

The reason Gaga’s rebrand worked was because she understood the public was sick of a specific way in which she markets herself and so she pulled back, made them miss her original music and picked a new lane that the public love her for (Adult Contemporary)
