MACATL 2,070 Posted yesterday at 05:40 AM Share Posted yesterday at 05:40 AM (edited) Aretha was a great great singer. There are many singers voices I prefer over hers, including Whitney. Edited yesterday at 05:40 AM by MACATL
monstertoronto 11,477 Posted yesterday at 06:11 AM Share Posted yesterday at 06:11 AM Whitney is for me the best. I still love her songs and I think she has the very definition of classics. I Will Always Love You is a standard and also a fun game even kids can play. I Wanna Dance with somebody is I think the quintessential 80s song and probably one of the greatest pop songs ever made. How Will I Know is pure perfection too. She has so many. I’m don’t know as many Aretha songs.

If we’re talking about technique, singers like Frank Ifield or Ghena Dimitrova immediately come to mind. Even the emotions actually. Sure, they’re not “pop”-oriented or mega famous like Whitney or Aretha, but actually I’d go as far as saying there’s probably hundreds if not thousands of vocalists that are Above those two

I didn’t even partially shift the goalpost, it was always about being “the very best vocalists ever”

Even in one single song like lets say Witch Dance or King the bitch displays a bigger range than most gals show in a lifetime.

Flo is great and I would definitely agree that she’s one of the better singers in pop rn. I’ll never forget how badly she gagged me when she delivered soulful realness on Lover to Lover when Ceremonials came out We have forgotten our public MANNERS
