Madonna - "Confessions II - The Film"

I am drunk and sleep deprived because there was a child screaming at the hallway early in the morning and I had to sleep on the floor because I had a man on my bed. ANYWAY. This video srsly is giving me life, I gagged, I cried, I was "Oh", I was shook, I was slayed and felt so skinny after watching that. I was feeling all the good things. That hair flip transition into Julia, Sabrina, the gays, women in latex wearing the cameras? All the cameos? Kate Moss, Shygirl, Benedict Cumberbatch like yass. Also, Lola at the end, yas queen. And her looks? Yessss, That bathroom scene with the blue dress? I need more of that.

But yes, I do love the video. She really hasn't done something like this before. Also it is a interesting choice not to release a music video for the first single but instead release a film for the album songs. I'm not mad, it's a great idea. But makes me wonder, will we be getting a proper music video? 

Love the new songs teased, not necessarily the best she has made, but then again my taste in music is a flop anyway nowdays so. I am still not sure why she felt the need to call this Confessions 2, like I get the lyrical content and all, but condering how massive Confessions was, she's kinda setting this album to, well, not flop but stand in it's shadow when it could be it's own thing. Bring Me Love has actually grown on me, but the song after that, in the bathroom scene, i NEED the full song like NOW. How many more words can I include as this is turning into a massive message.

Speaking on the film, I’m f*cking obsessed!!!! I love the snippets so much, One Step Away and Good for The Soul are incredible like they definitely will be on the top of her discography 

Now from a promotion standpoint… I wonder if releasing full videos would have been more impactful, do they even exist though? perhaps they are planning to release them after album release? It’s clear to me that she won’t be shooting any other MVs for the era so all the MVs came out one month prior to the album release…

Runway had a great video though? much better than dancing in a bathroom lol

But why some say - I wish Gaga did the same for Mayhem? I think Abra is a masterpiece, and it’s more fun to me than Madonna’s whole film.

In the past, Gaga did similar work with G.U.Y. - and it was a tiring mess 😅

I mean G.U.Y. was a tiring mess because girl was a mess at the time. 

Agree about Abra, but also if the future for Gaga albums is limited budget for singles & videos making it so we only get 2/3 in an album era. I'd be interested to see her take the funds and do something like this where its creating a mini concept film for the album, instead of confining the album's potential story to 1/2 videos like it did this era.

I think it was much better than this, and this is not bad at all. G.U.Y lacked some cohesion and had some anesthetic problems imo, yet it was filled with more interesting ideas. Madonna's video is less messy stylistically and kept much more visual consequence, yet there was much less in terms of story, looks, sets, ideas etc. Just a bit less of unnecessary ornamental details, less of chaos and G.U.Y would've served as hell 

I could've co-direct it tbh. What a movie would it be 😆

Madonna said during the premiere Q&A that she knew from the beginning that she wanted to do a film for the album. She said she had no interest in doing traditional music videos, so it's unlikely that we'll get any full cuts since they didn't shoot more than what was needed for the short film.
