I agree, I said on my second post that I ofc agree with the protest if the event is somehow disturbing the jobs and business of others

not that wild though, it’s not like she killed someone :iamfair:

I mean 3 days of disruption during peak season to businesses could very well cause enough damage to kill someone.

The gays know how to party

What a dumb move. I guess you cross a certain threshold where common courtesy and consideration for others goes out the window. Those shop owners aren’t getting compensation for the loss in business? Also, what mafia bosses are the rich getting in bed with to keep letting this happen?

And what's stopping people from joining the party? It's a public square after all. Should be easy to cause some good trouble

Some people have jobs there. They say that they will lose money and their time... While rich people like Dula Peep and her duckfaced husband are going to do some of the most vain and insulting wedding to the locals.

My reaction would be the same if it was Gaga.

We really don’t need to comment on looks to make this point. It’s perfectly possible to make valid criticisms without going down to unnecessary places like this.

idk why people are shocked, she routinely broke covid restrictions and flaunted her constant holidays whilst we were all locked away

This is ridiculous. Just rent out a castle, hotel, boat or other venue that caters to wedding if you want a big multiple day celebration. Closing off public spaces for days is selfish AF.

According to Gaga I'm a ****ing rad bitch

Yes, the way rich people can dispose any place and disrespect locals shouldn't be taken lightly. There's something very weird going in the world with this kind of thing, while a big part of the world is crushing down in crisis, you have this rich people doing this with no shame.

exactly this. i side with the Italian residents of Palermo

I totally understand but the scale of it that feels a bit crazy to me like I think it’s enough to make you bothered, but is it enough to make you protest? Unless it’s causing some trouble to someone’s business and stuff like that ofc then it’s completely reasonable

I’m not aware if this happened before in the same place though

but thats the thing, peoples livelihoods are being messed with here. shops and small businesses that need the people to come to make money will loose out on potentially 3 days of business because of this. ordinary people who need to go places to make money will loose out too

if someone were to lock your town or city for just a wedding just because they are rich when you are trying to work and make money, im sure you would also protest too. it simply shouldn't be allowed. public spaces are for the public, anyone should be free to use it. it shouldn't just be rented out by the rich.

Well it’s just a three days thing, is it really worth protesting? :madge:

yes? 3 days of lost profit during summer season is definitely a big deal for small business owners who are not mega celebrities and often struggle to make ends meet.

I mean it sucks for the locals but Palermo is also a tourist destination. Imagine saving up money and going to see the city only to be met with black walls and police surrounding the sights. This is just gross man
