ARTPOP is much better than chromatica in their sound and creativity. Chromatica is such a boring album and it doesn't have any gaga touch.

I feel like 911 and Replay are the only songs that have a Gaga touch. Also Enigmas lyrics in 2nd verse but that is it.

Chromatica had the opposite happen, and is the only one of her albums ever to have done that.

C2C, Joanne and ASIB really had people hungry for dance-ga. Chromatica filled the gap.

Then Mayhem happened. Everyone remembered she can usually do much better than house songs with sterile production.

it sometimes seems like the same monsters who were upset that MAYHEM "wasn't cohesive" are the ones who thought Chromatica was "generic".

no

Anything goes!

And that's the reason why they are the best.

overall, i think the musical quality and concept of chromatica are better than ARTPOP. even though the entire era took place during the pandemic, it still achieved impressive results.
although the number of live performances was far fewer than ARTPOP era, the box office revenue from just 20 stadium tour dates far exceeded artRave. despite the disruptions caused by the pandemic, chromatica performed on par with ARTPOP.
In my opinion chromatica is an amazing album that fully equal to, or even surpasses ARTPOP. it doesnt need any justice because this planet has always held a special place in some of our hearts, even if it only had one song that you may like such as alice, replay or rain on me.

but yeah if u ask me, it deserve more music videos and more creative performances, would be very iconic and insane.

I don’t think so.

Chromatica had her second biggest first week sales and two top 10 hits (including a #1). It doesn’t need a revival.

The ARTPOP love comes from a place of injustice, where we feel gaga was mistreated by her management, media and a lot of her fans.

I don’t think so. Simply because I think Chromatica was generally well received, and unlike ARTPOP, I don’t think it was an album made, where they culture changed enough years later to allow a fan base to accumulate for it.

I really do think ARTPOP was ahead of its time in the way that, if she had released it in 2021-26 it would have probably been more successful. How much more successful? I don’t know. But there is an audience for an EDM record for Gaga today. Not that the music itself is ahead of its time but the themes, the lyricism, and the overall vibe of the record would have been better accepted i somewhere between 2020-2024. I’m also ignoring the controversial things like the r Kelly collab, and assuming if it were released later it would have definitely featured a different artist. But as a body of work on its own, without any of the controversies surrounding the album, I think it would have done much better 10 years later.

Chromatica is one record of hers that I can see the producers visions JUST as much as I see hers. And given what we know about the album and its creation, and where Gaga was at mentally at the time, I think it is fair to conclude that it was an album made for the sake of it was time to release another album and that if there were no pressure to release a album, and she was allowed to take more time on it, we may have gotten more solid project.

Of course the album for great reviews, it came right after ASIB, she’s now got that Beyoncé-like status where you cannot really criticize their work

I’m not really sure if Gaga’s at that level yet, at least for the US Market/Media.

and Chromatica was well received by the fanbase I think? It’s just that we saw how Bloodpop sanitized the earlier (leaked) demos and people didn’t like that. It does feel forgettable compared to Gaga’s other output (despite some highlights and great lyrics) because it came out during Covid and didn’t really leave a mark outside RoM & 911 video.

and lbr MAYHEM era and music wise completely destroyed it so

Is there some reason my LG7 isn't here? Has she died or something?

Unlike ARTPOP, Chromatica doesn’t really need a renaissance… it was positively reviewed, positively received, started off with two top 10s and ended with her only stadium tour.

Truthfully, the renaissance for ARTPOP is manufactured by this weird fanbase that seems to think it was better than it was. I’ll eternally believe ARTSLOP is her worst album: full of the most half-baked, ham-fisted, corny and awful songs.

I love that album and having it soundtrack the pandemic was oddly special. When NYC reemerged in 2021, those songs were blasting at every club, party, bar, etc. Hell I even remember blaring it when Biden won. And experiencing the CBT in a stadium was insane and a highlight of her career tbh.

I love the exploration of pain through light/chaos/dance, and I think it’s something that resonates with a lot of people and could find a new audience in the future for sure
