That's not how net worth works.

By all accounts, the vast majority of her net worth is the value of her masters. She bought back her first six albums for ~$400 million. When you add in Lover, folklore, evermore, Midnights, TTPD and The Life of a Showgirl, as well as the four re-recordings, I wouldn't be surprised to see her master recordings and music rights make up well over half of her net worth.

She didn't succeed in de-valuing her own music, which was the whole point of the re-recording.

So she bought them for more than what Braun and Shamrock bought them, not because her music worth something specia, but because the re-recording didn't do it's job and it was useless and didn't serve the narrative anymore.

Good for her, she’s a nice person and one of the few celebrities who has maintained a sense of normalcy and relatability to the common man. 

Also, she writes her own music and she’s a talented songwriter. The haters can keep hating lol.

I do agree that her re-buying her masters was a bit stupid, but the reason why the originals had increased in value is pretty obvious. Between them being bought in 2019 and her buying them back in 2025, she re-peaked commercially, launched The Eras Tour which obviously massively increased the value of her catalogue and most of all, hadn't yet re-recorded Debut and Reputation, meaning the originals were the only available version.
