The StarGate Series first began with hit series Stargate SG1 that began in 1994 and ultimately ran for 10 Seasons (over 200 episodes), the series spun off a movie. Followed yet another hit series Stargate Atlantis which ran for 5 seasons (100 episodes) and ended with still high ratings The 3rd and 4th series include Stargate Universe and Stargate Origins which ran for less time and enjoyed less success than the first two Stargate SG1: Stargare Atlantis: 2 Quote Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

I been a scifi nerd since i was 9... my first obsession was the Star Trek Series (still love them) But StarGate is #1 on my list of franchises. It manages to take scifi, action and some humour and blend it together perfectly. Its also pretty good at not being cringe which in scifi is extremely rare tbh. The script is always cool and not cheesy I also love how they managed to come up with a plot and concept that takes place in our present day and with US military etc yet be very futuristic scifi at the same time. Haha the gouald were such a cool concept tho i found the switch if focus to the ori in the last seasons a refreshing change. Are u a bigger fan if SG1 or Atlantis? In Star Trek whats ur favourite series? Mine was Voyager for the longest time growing up. Then as I got older I decided I actually liked DS9 the most as I found Voyager actually had way too many weaknesses I overlooked when I was younger. Original Is very compelling with all the drama of the plot. Its kinda impressive how i Just watched the whole thing in September and i barely Remember anything anymore . I think Atlantis Is a good cool down from the main series and i don't know why but it gave me more of a dr Who vibe. Didn't appreciate It as much when It came out without seeing every episode. I can't believe it took them THAT long to realise the series was too focused on past stuff and would be too complicated to understand for a new audience. As far as I know they were writing the show for a while already and I believe they got a greenlight more than a year ago, they must've had discussions about what the series would be about... Why fix what aint broke? Yeah, the writers of SG1 joined SGA and the show was only getting better imo. Season 4 was amazing. Did you read the writers ideas for season 6? They revealed episode titles and what some episodes would've been about and it sounded amazing New galaxy, 2 new highly advanced races, ZPM factory, the comeback of Tayla as a wraith queen, Todd having a more recurrent role, time travel... I would love a comtinuation but id rather a reboot that bring back new audiences and brings back life to the franchise, than to not be able to proceed at all because too much time has gone by Even Star Trek Kinda did this with the new modern series. They made a shorter continuation series with Star Trek Picard which was clearly targeted at fans but the longer series that brought it back (star trek discovery) was essentially a reboot even if more or less canoon The new Star Trek Strange New Worlds I havent seen in full but it appears to be going the reboot route as well Quote Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
