Mayhem Meaning

The meaning wasn’t clear when she released it but became so clear when you watch the mayhem ball. The whole album in my opinion is about finding how to survive with the many parts of yourself that are chaotic. There doesn’t need to be a duel when both sides can live as one.
there’s so much I want to elaborate on but can’t rn. Either way, this album is her best for a  Reason

They connect by the 2 prominent  instruments

Disease - synth and bass

Abra - bass and drums (but it's not d&b kind of song, or maybe it is??)

GoE - drums and guitar

And finally PC is the highlight where all these instruments has a prominent part.

Then the albums takes a slow shift into the disco where Vanish is the bridge, it's slowing down with a piano and bass, a bit of drums and guitar.

I think Andrew Rice did an amazing job with the guitars and the bass there, especially when most of the songs are bass focused.

So sploosh your juice all over me you Riverboy

Mayhem has plenty of substance

Apparently substance is only when overarching theme or something

This again? :cheeky:

You know how I feel about MAYHEM, and you know I take every opportunity to criticize this album and its lack of substance, but I think it's time to move on. :traumatica:

Well I have asked about the tours story and the concept before but more broadly here I'm asking about the specific framing gaga gave for the album overall.

But 143 having no substance doesn't mean Mayhem automatically does though, I'm not saying Mayhem has no substance but 143 is pretty irrelevant to the point/discussion.

but my point is 143 is a real example of an album with no substance

those who claim mayhem has no substance are misguided and need to compare the two

mother, what must i do?

Not necessarily, an album can have plenty of songs individually that are rich with meaning but don't connect as a whole or have an overarching theme. It's just that that is how Gaga described it in interviews when she talked about the album but if it doesn't have an overarching theme that is fine.

Sure that is true, Mayhem has a lot more substance than most albums these days.

No it doesn't. It has just as much substance: None.
