"Remember, cinema is a young medium, only around 125 years old, so we have to be open to how it can evolve."

And other forms of art like literature, music, painting etc have been around for millennials, so if you need proof that you can't replace human-made art with AI art, here it is.

Disappointed in him, I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt based on the ambiguous wording (a tool that makes the workflow easier and lets you focus on the purely creative part is always welcome), but we'll see.

The only GGD member who can read / Credits to Celloo Deng for the profile pic!

Is it generative based on stolen stuff? I heard there's kinds of generative ai that is trained only on for example a specific studio's works, so it would only be using that as reference, and it was praised as one form of ai that is useful etc

chaeri pls

I'm sorry but I will never believe that being able to write effective prompts is on par with the creative effort it takes to come up with something from scratch. That's like calling yourself a good cleaner cause you line manage your maid effectively.

I thought he was against the MCU et al because of it having little to no way to incorporate anything made with time and passion/love LET ALONE do anything remotely artistic or take any risks at all/crowding out the truly creative stuff in cinemas (because, ya know, the bottom line, we gotta work those CGI studios to the bone and get 1B Box office while the biggest chunk has to come from males aged 18-25 or it doesn't count).

This, however, is begging to remove humanity from the creation process. Disappointment, but I've never found him to be that steadfast in most of his public opinions. Stubborn, yes, but that's not always something the most principled people possess.

And let's look back in two years if it's still for "storyboarding". I hope @littlepotter is right and it's an in-studio thing but 1) Wouldn't they have shouted that from the rooftops in the first place and 2) Doesn't that shackle smaller to mid-range directors even more to the studio they're at, making it even harder for them to leave for better offers elsewhere? I dunno, man. :wtf:

All genAI models are trained on the same datasets that contain mostly unlawfully obtained data - the ones claiming to be 'ethical' simply conveniently avoid mentioning which model they used as their base. One studio's output simply wouldn't be enough to create anything akin to midjourney or sora.

It's a joke! When you give me that look, it's a joke!
