In the past I liked her albums alternately. I liked Delirium, Brightest Blue wasn't my cup of tea at the time but I love(d) Higher Than Heaven. I do not hope this album continues the pattern

I thought the same thing at first because of the weird inconsistencies in her hair looking a lot like AI. But I guess in this case, you could get the same effect if you made her lean over a glass panel or sth and take the photo from underneath it while she is "lying down" on it with her hair all spread out. Would also explain the weird camera focus. Weird in the best sense, because I think that cover is one of her best so far!

If it was AI, it would also be extremely brazen to make this the album cover for a major international artist. So I'm willing to give her the benefit of the doubt and say it isn't. I hope.

She's gotten rid of her old face a long time ago though. I guess that's pretty much how she looks these days, plus some added contrast and soft focus. And the fingers actually look realistic if she was leaning down against a glass panel with her hands, face + hair, camera pointing upwards. 

I'm sure there was some AI touch up involved, because where isn't these days... But the original photo might have been real.
