Mayhem - For The First Time In 15 Years I Am Satisfied With An Era

You could not have said it better Economy, it truly has been unimaginable.

From Die With A Smile. I'm not the biggest fan of the song but how nice was it hearing her voice out there again on the radio. And then we got Happy Mistake and boy what a song, one of her best ballads and after all these years too. And THAT performance on Jimmy Kimmel. I hadn't felt that for such a long time.

What a moment it was getting Disease. Sitting back and getting absolutely taken over by the first listen to a Gaga song. When was the last time that happened to me? It was a sign of things to come with the full album.

In amongst the gems we got Abracadabra and How Bad Do U Want Me and in my humble opinion these are two of her best songs. Bite me on HBDUWM but this has been spammed on the radio (I still hear it as recently as last week) and it just gets better and better still to do this day. It can't be overplayed.

Coachella was just beyond perfect. There are no words.

The Mayhem Ball will go down as one of the best days of my life. It was the first time seeing her since the BTWB and the whole thing was just surreal, I thought that would never happen.

Along with all the interviews, promos and performances I am just so grateful to be living in the same time as Gaga.

To close the era off the way it started with Die With A Smile Requiem is oh so fitting.

Ever since I started stanning since 2015, this is the only mainline era (besides ASIB) that feels COMPLETE. I am very satisfied with the Mayhem era. Love the album, love the tour, love the remix album in the form of Requiem, love the videos, and I love pretty much every performance. I wish we got more videos but I’m still more than happy with what we got

Exactly and if you want to be technical DWAS song/video came out long before Mayhem and wasn't even going to be on the album at first, Gaga even called Disease the lead/first single(and TDD doesn't count either since that was for Wednesday and was added to the album later) so technically Mayhem only got 2 singles/videos, Disease and Abra

Yes!! And she also won Grammys, including best pop album for the first time since TFM, and several VMAs including Artist of the Year, making her one of two artists to win this twice! Truly an amazing era. We are blessed

TBF a whole month off is not the standard here in Canada and not every company lets u take all ur vacation at once and I had special circumstances behind it 

 

My company gives 3 weeks a year as a benefit when you start (standard in my Province is 2 weeks payed leave which rises to 3 weeks by law after 5 years at a company but some companies just give you the 3 weeks right away depending)...

 

But because we were moving warehouses, we were insanely busy and I was working a lot of overtime for over a year with 60h a week being my norm for a whole. Because of my role taking much time off was not possible during this project. I accrued a lot of vacation time and I only took a couple days here and there (once for Florida and once for Banff) so my vacation balance just kept accomulating

 

I wanted to take it all at once cuz I was so burned out and my manager was kind enough to aknowlege i really needed a serious break but even then if I took so much time at once I had to select a time that worked for the company because 4 consecutive weeks is considered disruptive.

 

Canada has more flexible time off laws than USA but still not as good as Europe. Taking a month off here is an aberation for most people and my situation had specific circumstances behind it. 

 

In the 15 years I have been in the workforce it is the first time I took a whole month off at once.
