StrawberryBlond 15,428 Posted May 31 Share Posted May 31 I don't know if the project suffers from being delayed so much but there's only a few songs I like on it (Brutalist, Jeep, Freak It) and the rest of it is a bit meh. They sound more like tracks from a promo EP than a fully fledged album. I like the cover and the story behind Brutalist was really moving but I feel a lot of this was wasted opportunities. Kim herself said that she realised she was ruining her career by releasing this but sometimes, it's right to hit the reset button. She knows it was a big fluke that she got so well-known because of the right collab and just wants to go back to doing her own thing and making art that's for her. She says she already knows how the next album's going to sound so I'm hoping she can benefit from releasing it when she's ready and the music might be coming from a more stable place.
