I am onto absolutely nothing but HERE ME OUT

What if the mistress was a concept that went throughout her career?

It starts at the end of Marry the Night when she chooses Fame

lady-in-red-mayhem-in-the-marry-the-nigh

Then in Aura it's the mistress narrating

I killed my former and
Left her in the trunk on Highway 10
Put the knife under the hood
If you find it, send it straight to Hollywood

Lady is dead

images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSHis-JF6MrI4mquOISmac

Mistress is absent during Joanne because Joanne is supposed to be just Stefani or smth. or maybe it was the chaos angel or Frankenstein or smth IDFKKKK

Okay that's where it ends :enigma:

Thank you for listening

Anything goes!

The Mistress actually arguably makes an appearance during the JWT. When she performed BM on the JWT she often said some variation of, “Sorry Joanne, there’s a new girl in town…” while dressed in red

OKAY NEW VERSION

The mistress is actually born during Born This Way

250?cb=20110228192028

she's like evil

She starts to grow up at the end of Marry the Night when she chooses Fame

lady-in-red-mayhem-in-the-marry-the-nigh

She cameos in You And I for some reason

115652_36.jpg

Then in Aura it's the mistress narrating

I killed my former and
Left her in the trunk on Highway 10
Put the knife under the hood
If you find it, send it straight to Hollywood

Lady is dead

but then she gets revived

in GUY

The mistress is the Chaos as opposed to the Angel (lady),

and is FRANKENSTEINED with her into Lady Gaga

During the JWT she shows up again to do something I guess

She's absent from chromatica because chromatica is the escape from reality I think

But Lady is captured or something before the chromatica ball

and TCB is a specialised purgatory made by the Mistress

This circle of purgatory ends in Disease

and she ascends to the next level where she out dances the mistress and gains control in Abracadabra

Lady escapes and celebrates in The Dead Dance

but the mistress finally comes back for the MAYHEM ball

and during that they finally fuse into one

and accept their new world in Die With A Smile

See, given that MTN is at the beginning of her career chronologically, I think the Mistress has been there from the jump. You could argue that the first time we really see her is maybe Paparazzi at the VMAs

She’s also arguably in the BR vid (though, given that BR is the last number in TAOPC, the BR may be foreshadowing the synthesis of the Mistress and EtherealGa)

I do also think the Alejandro video and the Fame perfume ad are very Mistress coded (black clad dancers, oppressive fascistic/militaristic vibe), but I think both videos equally represent the tension between those two sides of her as much as anything

I think you could also argue that, in the CBT ball, the red ACT II outfit and the black ACT III outfit have echoes of the Mistress, tbh

Ngl mapping TAOPC over her career and exploring how the tension between EtherealGa and the Mistress plays out would be such an interesting project

I love how for the Mistress she specifically used the Bad Romance colour contrasts and ended the show with both colours combing TO Bad Romance.

Also specifically referencing that VMAs look during the tour to show that it’s her stage persona vs her “real” persona

100%. I also love that that color contrast is introduced in Paparazzi at the VMAs (performance look vs. acceptance look) through BR and all the way to Abra and how TAOPC manages to make its use of that color contrast feel connected to all of those moments. Like the fact that the first time we see the lace Lady in Red in TAOPC is after the Mistress “kills” EtherealGa and sends her into the gothic dream (which is, in part, of being a tortured celebrity/blonde starlet) and the first time we saw the lace Lady in Red irl was after a Gaga in white is killed onstage as a consequence of being a tortured blonde starlet…dramaturgically consistent QUEEN
