I don’t HATE Hair, but it’s always felt a bit redundant & lyrically cringe-inducing to me.

Beautiful saxophone & piano. Her vocals are great, too… but the whole thing feels like “Disney Channel Springsteen.”

If I was judging solely the pre-chorus & chorus, I would say... yeah, put it on the album. Cheeseball fun, like FOHL!

But the post-chorus & second verse sound so, so bad  oh my god

I love your take it is literally like a Disney Springsteen Abba KISS Gaga RedOne megamix like it doesn't really make any sense and that intrigues me. then they had the nerve to add a sax solo... I don't take it at face value cos I don't see how all of that could be done in earnest so I find it very ironic and experimental, the post chorus and 2nd verse are my favourite parts

Insane to think that that album, that era, that movement that travelled around the world, all the potential for all of those things, all the lives that would be changed.. once sat inside a SINGULAR disk. One copy only. The world didn't know how much it would be changed by that disk. SHE didn't know how her life would explode after that disk was multiplied millions of times and spread across the planet. But thank god it was

I think it was very normal to be finishing albums right around the time they were about to come out, especially back then before vinyl became a thing and they had to plan months ahead for all physicals to be ready on time. Born This Way was digital + CD so that was easier to have ready.

Mark my words, I believe that Heavy Metal Lover version from the "For Vince" CD is the one she used for Gagavision 41 and it was still getting finished.
