The one thing I struggle with sometimes is she has a tendency to over complicate things, for example the Mr. Rogers cover. imogen2133 561 Posted May 22 Share Posted May 22 (edited) Do like: Pretty much all the songs vocally on The Fame, The Fame Monster, Born This Way and ARTPOP(yes even Dope) and my fav album vocally from her is definitely BTW her voice on that album is so lush, sweet sounding, pleasant, bright and soft/light and I also LOVE how playful and intense her vocals are on ARTPOP and all of the vocal growls just omg Also her vocals during her performance at Jingle Bell Ball 2013 are some of my favs of all time from her live performances. Don't like: I hate her vocals on most of Joanne ESPECIALLY Perfect Illusion I cant listen to that song for that reason it sounds more like she is shouting then singing(even if she isn't) and it is very unpleasant to my ears, this also goes for the Joanne World Tour, I know it's an unpopular opinion but that tour has some of my least favorite vocals she has ever done, her voice was quite grating and strange sounding at times and I wasn't a fan of how she switched up the way she sang some of the songs either from the usual arrangements. Her vocals on Chromatica and Mayhem are fine but I'm not a fan of her more recent nasal singing voice and I find it hard to understand what words she is singing at times because she blends vowels together. The first seven seconds of PI are so promising, but then... 🎤🥀 The awkward demo-sounding vocals during the verses, then the shouting during the chorus (yes, it's shouting), then the unpleasant key change... Now she sings it without the accent and it sounded so much better at The Mayhem Ball.
