And in requiem specifically, she talked about how they wanted the show to feel like the songs had been taken apart and reassembled in a way to unearth different aspects of the music. So if mayhem did what McQueen did but with her discography, requiem is meant to do that with this era specifically. So kind of exploring the dead components of mayhem basically. I hear you, but I doubt that much thought was put into the styling process on Gaga's part.

The various adornments are definitely matador garb. As pointed out previously, this collection mixed a lot of different cultural influences. I wouldn't doubt her in this case since the Horn of Plenty outfit for the Grammys and reference to Plato's Atlantis were veeeery intentional and it and requiem were only recorded a month apart. I can easily see a world where she was really considering which McQueen collection to reference because there are so many looks of his she could have drawn from to do this walk. MountainMonster 2,153
Hmm.. interesting. I did not expect so many of y’all to prefer the Chromatica ‘fit. I prefer the Requiem one; for me it feels like the wealthy Mexican mobstress, who also runs the saloon and brothel, is at the funeral for her dead husband (who she may have killed). The Chromatica one is like; well there’s a car, I guess.
