However least with "Legendary Lovers" that was a deep cut and never received mainstream status. You can see this when you look at global spotify top 50 - this is not unique to Katy. Lots of old songs in there Is it that new music fails to captivate or is it that people are getting depressed and turning to older music for nostalgia? Streaming charts and thus charts generally are working fundamentally different, one can say more HONEST, today. People listened to albums and songs after buying them, for years and decades, the charts just never reflected that, only the sale counted. Big hits were always played on the radio and on MTV, years and decades later, charts just didn’t reflect that like they do now.

Most of AM users are from the US, Chris Brown is charting with multiple songs on their global chart since his album is #1 in the US but he's nowhere to be found on Spotify. Yes, but even when you search european songs on AM, TOTGA is at #116 right now (-20) while Runway is #32 and this is for EUROPEAN songs on AM. The difference is suspicious. Chris Brown is #73 on AM european songs and that's very related with him having a 1 album on the us AM. Edited 11 hours ago by Levine
