Mayhem Requiem
question

Which Mayhem song is going to receive a Judas-esque resurgence 10 years from now?

I’m kind of hoping Garden of Eden. It’s one of my favorite songs in mayhem and I’m lowkey surprised it wasn’t a single.

I think the plan was to make it an official radio single, however it just didn't attract enough attention.

And maybe due to 'Disease' underperformed.

The Michael movie being out would be the perfect opportunity for SOAM to receive a mini resurgence but it doesn't seem to be happenig so I don't know...maybe later.

it's rising these past few days 🎊🎉

I shine more in the dark.

This woman is damn near a ****ing billionaire and won't take a risk on a single. Sounds like secondary popstar energy to me... yikes.

Because it is about optics. She wants to be seen as a winner, she doesn't want the stench of flop around her. This is the same reason why Monster was cancelled as a single even though it was planned.

And yes, it is a bad strategy long-term but it is what it is.

She did try extremely hard with G.U.Y. however it lost a lot of money from what I heard.

She paid for the whole mv shoot.

Would love to see Disease get that treatment, tbh

Actually that is my suspicion, the quality is totally there.

Disease, Perfect Illusion, G.U.Y., Marry the Night, Eh Eh, etc. all deserve the Judas treatment of getting the single success they deserve later down the line.

New listeners will be playing this in a few years and be like "Oh wow this Vanish Into You song is amazing, can't believe I never listened to it on the radio. Can't find the music video for it. oh wait this wasn't a single?!!?"

I think Disease will also be appreciated later when they start listening to it and find out that it was the lead and how different it is.
