I was her phlebotomist for a time. Was fired for drinking the samples while singing the lyrics to The Beast.

You know, I was certified in phlebotomy while I was in college. My campus was right next to a hospital so the medical programs were really popular.

Couldn't do it :traumatica:

Blood in real life is just too much for me and Blood(pop) on a Gaga song is also too much for me. Thus, Chromatica is my submission for this thread :cheeky:

Just the whole album :cheeky:

Head Empty

I would say Monster but I know I'm in a minority on that one.

Lots of artist at that time put out a song with Monster in the title. Which immediate made the whole premise feel a bit more basic.

But I also always felt that something is missing in the production and the vocals. The song doesn't have the same level of personality and shine that the other tracks on the album have.

It's still a solid track, just... a little mid :artdoll2:

Abracadabra also represents being stuck in a purgatory-like space between life and death, death or love, a dialectic that, much like that between reality and fantasy (both reflected on PI and BM), once exercised can be fully synthesized into, not a liminal middle, but rather a dynamic modality with where they can coexist (the awareness of death can be held without fear, life/loss + love/loss exist in a non-dualistic continuum, fantasy can exist without the denial of reality and vice versa)

In Chromatica, no one thing is greater than another etc etc.

And again with the casual apex contextualization of contemporary mythology materialized through the lived expression of pop music :applause: Serving up ancient city texts, ladling out haus kingdom lore … the purgatory sway collapse into dilation (falling free … modern ecstatic … and the like) … whew

But/and … oh wow, in immediate retrospect, on the Abracadabra integration … that her first live album is a requiem—the patron psychopomp of pop will never not engage with that MIDheaven

Also … adding to the list: Joanne (quite literally, the eponymous origin middle)

Also, also … in further retrospect, “Pop Music Will Never Be Low Brow” … never necessitated High Brow elitism, maybe this whole thing was just a middle class revival campaign in the key of mass culture bourgeoisie beats

Canonically speaking … Perfect Illusion, by its own verbatim admission, is definitively “stuck in the middle zone” … and Bloody Mary, canonically speaking, exists in the liminal median mode
