Now, we all know RUNWAY plays before Glamorous Life in the end credits, but it isn't technically a "new" song as it already played in a scene in the film. Could GL then actually be eligible for cosideration? No, GL plays several times too

Then eligibility wouldn't be a question. Anyway, it's interesting that the updated rules actually enphasize (bolded) the word "new" in the eligibility rule. NemoMyName 1,907
idk if anybody mentioned this but Shape of a Woman was leaked back then in april 2025, it was a snippet of the 2nd verse Also some people complaining about songs being unreleased mayhem sessions song as if it was a bad thing, i'm all in if she uses those unreleased songs for side projects instead of waiting for some shady leak to have them. onionring 692
I don't know it it's been said, but GL for me gives mid 2000s so hard. In some parts I can totally hear ms. Aguilera, at others I hear P!nk's earlier rnb adjacent work and at times Kelly Clarkson pop rock flares. I think it was kismet that Meryl asked her to cameo, I don't know where else would this song fit. Out of the three this is least mayhem reject sounding track and I'm so glad she ultimately decided not to put on the tracklist. Could I see it on mayhem, yes, but it would have been a skip for sure. Here, on a soundtrack for a sequel to a 2000's flick, most definitely. Also I've always wanted gaga to do more rnb or rnb adjacent music, her voice really shines in that genre. I think what the rule is referring to is songs that are not in the film but only on the credits, those aren't elegible anymore and it is specifying that any "credits" song needs to play for 15 seconds before the credits actually start (so they need to be part of the last scene of the movie for at least that long). Taking the pre-mayhem tracks as act I, then original standard mayhem + GL, and last act with the bonus tracks. Hi sis! Mmm interesting but I'd respect the order for CSTH and KFL

Actually having read it, it seems the 15 seconds thing is a procedural rule for submission. That if a film were going to submit a song that's in the credits, the video clip they are to submit should include the last 15 seconds of the film. However, the Academy also limits BOS video clip submissions to 3-mins. 3:15 max if it's from the end credits. I don't know for how long RUNWAY plays in the credits, but it wasn't the whole song. So if Glamorous Life is able to fall within those 3-mins, it might be eligible?
