I always had faith in this song Even when so many said it just sounded like a MAYHEM reject I mean, tbf, it kind of does (and partially is), but that’s not to say it’s bad. It’s a cute li’l bop. IMO, Glamorous Life mops the floor with Runway and SOAW We have forgotten our public MANNERS

Though I already know that and SOAW are much better than RUNWAY. Do we know if SOAW might’ve been for MAYHEM? I don’t recall anything coming out about that, but my memory is also sh*t It definitely sounds like it could fit in between KFL and SOAM, but whenever people use the term “x outtake,” they almost always use it as a pejorative. SOAW, imo, sounds much better than that. Edited 1 hour ago by REALITY 𝔗𝔥𝔢 𝔪𝔬𝔫𝔰𝔱𝔢𝔯 𝔱𝔬𝔯𝔢 𝔞𝔴𝔞𝔶 𝔦𝔱𝔰 𝔪𝔞𝔰𝔨 𝔞𝔫𝔡...𝔦𝔱𝔰 𝔣𝔞𝔠𝔢 𝔴𝔞𝔰 𝔪𝔦𝔫𝔢.

SOAW, imo, sounds much better than that. The verses of SOAW leaked about a year ago with different lyrics under the working title “Sunroof” and appears to have been from the MAYHEM sessions (they started issuing copyright strikes against people posting the snippet like 5-6 months ago so I can’t find any links to it). Ngl I do see SOAW as a MAYHEM outtake in a somewhat pejorative sense, given that it sounds about half baked to me. I think the chorus is strong, but the verses are gobbledegook and all over the place (probably in part because she was writing new lyrics around a new concept over a pre-existing melody). It’s a song that I feel, at least at this point, I would’ve appreciated more if it were a demo that had leaked, as opposed to a song she officially released. It’s by no means bad, but it just feels like it’s on par with something like “We Could Be Lovers” as opposed to most, if not all, of MAYHEM. Sonically, I think it sounds great, but lyrically, yeah, it’s whatever. To be fair though, I think most of MAYHEM has subpar lyrics. For me, the production and vocals carried the album, and if SOAW was indeed a MAYHEM outtake, it doesn’t surprise me that it follows suit. LIke with TDD, you can feel that conceptually, it's a demo that was reworked around another project. It's not bad at all, but it doesn't fully gel as a Gaga song for me. Reserving judgement until I hear the full HQ version however.

IMO the verses and chorus feel like they’re different songs (likely because the verses were written for a MAYHEM outtake and repurposed) and the chorus is the better of the two sounds/styles. The chorus gives me major I Was Made For Loving You vibes Oh my god, I couldn't place what the chorus reminded me of, but you're exactly right! Time. It will not wait, no matter how hard you hold on...
