The policy options are detailed in a note prepared by Elbridge Colby, the Pentagon's top policy adviser, who expressed frustration at some allies' perceived reluctance or refusal to grant the United States access, basing and overflight rights - known as ABO - for the Iran war, said the official. NATO is a defensive alliance. Don't drag the good name of Europe through the mud just 'cause you let Israel cuck you and make you its clown. Yeah... the most irritating thing about this Administration from a non-Americans perspective when it comes to foreign policy is the constant USA victimitization of itself like the entire world is ganging up on the US and the US just constantly being taken advantage Meanwhile the US is trying bully everyone especially allys into deals to fix non existant issues with trade deals or gaslighting NATO with the narrative that they are useless when the US chose to start an unnecessary war without consulting anyone. If we did the same Trump would accuse Canada or EU of taking the US for granted as usual The only thing Trump is right about is that the US does do a disproportionate heavy lifting in NATO but thats largely been the choice of the US cuz it likes to flex its muscles and get involved in everything. No one in NATO demanded the US must spent over $1T annually on "decence" and have so many bases around the world. The United States CHOSE TO DO THAT ON THEIR OWN As for the trade deficit issue, thats technically true but I can write a long essay on the reasons the US has a chronic trade deficit with the worls that have a lot more to do with policies the US has chosen to do that have nothing to do with how good deals are or arent. A few specific Countries like China are a problem in playing fair (tho thats with everyone not just the USA). So deal with them seperately... Dont blame the entire world you run trade deficits even tho you choose overspend 5% of GDP in budget deficits outside recessions which puts more money in economy than it generates, and also have a defence dependent economy that does nothing industrialy productive to sell even though all the people who work in defence (directly or indirectly) also consume like everybody else.
