Yeah...I guess that's the draw back of a narrative over a documentary styled thing. They have to tell a story not just recount events.

The involvement of both the estate and his family is felt so thoroughly it's actually a bit ridiculous :icant:

LOL you did actually make me more curious to see it, though, as a big fan of his. I was like eh this looks like it’ll be the Springsteen movie whom I also love (and the movie looked BAD)

the way @PartySick's love for MJ is the only fan comparison i can ever make with myself and Gaga. this guy GETS IT. i legit put Will You Be There to read, just so i can experience what you wrote better. every time MJ is brought up I'm eager to read, i go in the topic looking only for your comments.

with that being said, this was an interesting read and im happy you enjoyed the movie. :kara:

I wouldn't mind :icant:

This film is already lacking and it hasn't even gotten to the controversial stuff.

I just saw it today. I thought it was cute and decent. They censored and manipulated stuff to paint Joe in a bad light and blatantly hide people. Im not a fan of MJ but to new gen, this might work.

I sure do hope they wont twist the sequel plot further from the truth. They can just leave it untouched.

The Bill Bray guy is so eerie.

Actually they painted him to be a lot better than he was :bear: that's my problem with his portrayal.

How so? He was one of the surrogate father figures Michael found and remained close to him until he died a few years before Michael died.

I'm pretty sure it's literally defined as an obsession :ladyhaha:

I've always had it bad for him. When I went to see Janet Jackson, I took my sequin glove and wore it during "Scream" just to absorb some of his spirit :icant:

I figure, I never got to see him but I've seen his sister, his guitarist, his choreographer, and half a dozen impersonators so I have to be at the equivalent of about 40% of an MJ concert :bradley:

And the day I get to meet Gaga I'm pulling the same thing I did when I met Kim Petras. I chatted with Kim about Gaga for a minute, I'm absolutely dying to talk about Michael with Gaga :bradley:

I just realized there wasn't a single mention of the salvation army. I take it all back, it's unwatchable :crossed:

omg you are awesome, you have no idea how cool you are fr. Every time i get batsh!t over Ga I remind myself you are the exact same way and feel normal about myself. :ladyhaha: THIS is the fan experience, this is definition of someone changing your whole life with their art. No casual listening over here. And the way you talk about him, someone would think you actually met him and was in his close circle, I hope you get to meet Ga and chat about him.

ps. Petition to get you in the writers room for the sequel :grr:

I'd get the whole estate sued :icant:

I'm dropping names, I'm exposing Evan Chandler and Tom Sneddon, I'm putting the violation of Neverland as a sanctuary via police brutality and the DA's freakish desire to take MJ down on full display, I'm showing Lisa Marie having every reason to kill Michael herself, I'm giving the creation of HIStory at least an hour to itself to cook showing the full range of anger, paranoia, fear, and pain, I'm f*cking it all up to tell the real story :icant:

I knew nothing about MJ so this watch was actually very interesting. However, reading your review makes it’s obviously sad that they glossed over some really important context clues like the entire abuse of his father. As someone who knows nothing about his career or his music (I was born in 2000, my actual first memory of MJ was his death), this was a very innocent way to spend 2 hours of my life and a fun way of learning about probably the most important artist of our lifetime. That said, I think the general public will like it cause I seriously did knew NOTHING and thought it was enjoyable.

Out of curiosity, what’s your thoughts on the minor abuse allegations? Idk why I feel so much empathy for Michael here…I bet SOME lines were probably crossed that shouldn’t have, but child abuse? Maybe the media did a good job at washing my brain but I couldn’t confidently believe the full allegations.
