I've never understood why she continues to be such a big fan of him to this day. I get when she was young, when our music taste is a bit more questionable (there was a time I thought Barbie Girl was the best song ever, after all) but why does she still like him all this time later? The type of music she makes is at total odds with his style and people from her subgenre would laugh a JB fan out the door. I mean, I remember how hard it was as a kid to navigate who was cool and wasn't and who it was "safe" to admit you were a fan of. My friends still don't know I used to like Avril Lavigne. Even when she was popular, she had no respect among fans of real goth/skate/punk music like my friends were. Justin definitely went through an unpopular period when 1D became popular and I thought he was done but then he came back with Purpose and it was like not just his fans showed up but the whole world loved him and he got new fans. I know JB fans in their 40's. I just don't get how anyone of a more advanced age could find anything good about his music. When he debuted, I knew right away his music was for teenyboppers and he just became more generic ever since. His music has never had grit or passion, just designed to make money. I never respected it when he debuted and I don't now. How he still continues to retain fans who loved him since they were a teen right through adulthood is beyond me. There should come a time when you outgrow the music taste of your formative years. But then, I don't get why being attractive is enough to make women buy your music. And I say that as a woman myself.

I also want to say as well, it makes me so uncomfortable when I see underage people calling grown adults "so sexy." Yes, we all did that at the same age but when you're an adult, it hits different. I can't imagine what it's like to be famous and you've got a bunch of minors fantasising about you in a way that they're too young to experience. If it weren't for that bit, I could totally see why Billie would share this as a cute throwback but if it were me...I'd totally edit that part out.
