Levine 23,958 Posted May 23 Share Posted May 23 Already overrating Crystal, but she was NOT the best of the episode. To me the stand outs were Salina, Silky, Aura and then Crystal. If you criticize April's vocals then you can't shut up on Crystal's, she sounded horrible. The lipsync looked like those early lispincs on regular seasons were both queens will be eliminated head to head, one had too much energy, the other was dead in the face the whole time. At minimum, they need to scale back flagship All Stars to once every 2-4 years. But another issue, I think, is that the ROI for most queens is too low. The cash prize is too low, the financial barrier for entry is too high, the risk to their reputation if they go home early doesn’t feel worth it, and, once queens have been on the OG DR, that exposure alone is usually enough for them to springboard into a successful career without having to put their ass on the again for AS. Yeah the reduction in design challenges has pushed costs onto the queens and its really hurting DR as a franchise as well as the increase in episode numbers and cast size and the fact runways have changed from broad brush "Dress to Impress" or "High Class drag" to more niche/specific things that would force most queens to buy new drag specifically for that runway . Levine 23,958 Posted May 29 Share Posted May 29 Watched the new episode Salina robbed onece again. She was the most funny in the challenge and she slayed the runway. Crystal looked A MESS, sorry. She looked hideous, nothing gaggy or artsy on that. And I didn't laugh once during her commercial. That's why I HAAAAAAAte the brackets: producers will solely focus on the queen they already decided to push (in this case they want her to win the crown) and they will make her advance no matter what. Salina was wearing a less elevated version of April’s look, imo. She also just comes across too forced for me to laugh at what she’s doing.
