Ill be honest, brat is a pop album. i love it a lot, but front to back it's very centrally a pop album inspired by the dance pop sounds of the blog era. Renaissance is the only of the two that's actually a dance album imo. Renaissance is Beyonce's second best album or maybe her best for how much she really commits to making a dance album in theory, design, and execution. It's truly a celebration of the lineage of dance music.

Renaissance by several laps for me.

Brat is good, but I will echo some others that it gets on my nerves after a while.

i also don’t get why people in here don’t like BMS. Although PURE/HONEY is my favorite track.

Or it is exactly what it is: their opinion lmao. They’re literally just saying their perception isn’t tied to critical reception, it’s based on their personal evaluation, which is totally valid lol. They’re allowed to think Renaissance is exponentially better regardless of critical consensus, you can disagree and think that critical consensus confirms your belief. Not really that deep.

Yes, thank you for stating the obvious. They never claimed their opinion was the consensus, you (for some reason) extrapolated the idea that critical consensus somehow supersedes individual opinions and preferences.
