D4vd faces a possible death sentence

Singer D4vd, whose legal name is David Anthony Burke, is charged with first-degree murder, with special circumstances of "lying in wait" as Celeste went to his home.

The second charge is an additional special circumstances of alleged murder for "financial gain". Hochman accuses Burke of murdering the 14-year-old to maintain his lucrative musical career "that Celeste was threatening on that particular night".

The third charge is murdering a witness to an investigation. He says evidence to be shown in court says Rivas was a witness into an investigation of sexual acts committed by Burke while she was under 14-years-old.

Wow, I didn't think they'd potentially be going that far. Has a celebrity ever been given the death penalty? This will be monumental if it happens. It shouldn't have taken this long to bring him to justice but I guess there had to be the strongest case brought against him for prosecution. These new stars really need to be vetted more before they hit the big time. Labels want to sign anyone for having a TikTok hit these days, they get all the riches in the world over a few months and then we find out they're scumbags. We really need to stop mindlessly worshipping people we don't know. And realising that for some of them, disturbing imagery isn't art, it's real life for them. It's like ToddInTheShadows once said: "The first thing you need to know about celebrities is, lots of them are horrible people."

And in a case of really bad timing, there was a plane skywriting over Coachella the other day with the words "Celeste is a liar" and everyone thought D4vd had commissioned it but its now been determined that it was probably promotion for the new Netflix show, Roommates, which features a character called Celeste who's always lying. But damn...

So, as summary, this man is a nonce, and had been grooming Celeste, and he killed her because Celeste threaten him to expose this fact just before his music career launched

Well I'm glad he's facing the consequences of his actions (or at least I hope something will actually happen) but damn, death sentence? Really? Doesn't sound like a proper punishment to me

Don't worry, fam. It's California. Death sentence exist, but Governor Gavin Newsom instituted a moratorium in 2019, closing the execution chamber at San Quentin State Prison and repealing the lethal injection protocol. While capital punishment remains on the books, no executions have occurred since 2006 (Clarence Ray Allen)

So it's practically just another name for life in prison (so far)
