truthteller 1,811
that cancelled canadian date could gross around 2M-2.5M and could have pushed it above Shakira's current gross as the 5th highest female tour of ALL TIME

PartySick 169,516
17 minutes ago, Tinnitus15 said: Imagine the numbers if it was a stadium tour Would they not be the same? She did 2-4 shows in an area which would have been the same as doing one show in a stadium. She just would have done fewer shows. For example, the second set of LA shows. Instead of four nights at the Kia Forum (seating 53,000 people across the four shows) she probably would have booked Dodger stadium again (seating 56,000) for an arguably worse experience for everyone who attended. The attendance and revenue would have been around the same but the shows themselves would have been significantly worse. Louvre 4,382
3 hours ago, TEANUS said: Aside from the tickets genuinely being overpriced, this argument always cracks me up, as if a tour like The MAYHEM Ball employs or financially supports one person and not hundreds. Part of the ticket prices is certainly scalping, scamming, and greed enabled by an industry monopoly, but part of it is almost certainly also to support the wages of these people when the cost of living, etc. is increasing Also a large portion of the profit is being made by these gross companies and their CEOs, while the artists still make a good bit I’m sure idk how much the companies and CEOs make. Like Interscope doesn't get a chunk of this gross do they?? An artist as established as Gaga should be able to prevent other huge companies from taking too much. I agree though that there are hundreds of people employed in these shows and the money is going in many directions - which is better than everything going to one person. But even more so, it makes me happy that money is being put into local economies - restaurants, hotels, public transit.
vmpiregrn 1,046
The way all the tickets sold is still less than the number of people on Copacabana…I’m still not over that
