Honestly it’s giving performance art but yeah, not art I’d expect/want to see from him hhh

it reminds me a bitnof ARTPOP era (not saying Gaga is lazy - anything but)

this reminds me of that performance art where that girl peed in a can of spaggetto's. so bold and brave.

I didn’t realize she was watching the frank ocean set from a few years ago. Weird thing to watch while at this year’s Coachella!!

We are sort of in this social age where many of the younger generations prefer the whole "less is more" aesthetic hmm.

Not really, people said the exact same thing when Adele was beating out Gaga in 2011. It’s not generational imo so much as the same snobbery that comes with pop music haters often

The permissibility of this level of performance from such a big name is really only granted to someone from his demographic.

When you think his Grammy performance couldn’t get any worse and he’s like “hold on, I can try something worse for Coachella”. :icant:

It's so bad and such a big **** you to the Coachella owner (who is a prick).
That it's almost kind of punk.

gurl don't even, the coachella owner gets paid anyway, i don't think he cares or is watching the show, it is a big **** you to the fans and people attending expecting to see something that's worth it

Yeah but loads of his fans are eating it up.

And i just saw the day 3 merch queues and it was all at JBs booth and none at Sabrina's.

And yeah the owner gets his bag anyway - but old rich white men hate being embarrased. Justin Bieber is the highest paid headliner ever and look what he did. That's an embarrassment.

The gays know how to party

I find this kind of interesting. It’s a different form to connect with the audience. It could have been done with some polish but it feels relatable - him just casually opening his songs on YouTube and singing them, idk. :enigma:

Not really. If Beyoncé or the Weekend wanted to do it I’m sure the organizers and fans would let it slide. It’s not him being white but the fact he is an iconic artist.

Yeah, really. If the Weeknd did it, most of his fans would vibe and the gp would barely mention it because he's a man and the bar is low for them. If Beyoncé did it, her fans would "forgive" her for it and the gp would ridicule her.

Demographic isn't just race and that's far from the only factor, but it certainly is a factor.
