OMG! On the first listen to Runway, I didn't realize the first verse was Gaga's rap voice.

I was kind of disaponted because Gaga's singing part was so short. But now I'm wrong! OMFG

It did take me a hot minute to realise it was Gaga too, the way she delivered those opening lines is something she hasn't done much of in her discography so it threw me but I'm absolutely here it for it. Soo camp, can't wait to walk down the streets to this!

I didn’t know it was Gaga either. It was disappointing because it doesn’t sound like her so it doesn’t feel like I’m listening to Gaga.
 

BUT I am glad she’s using her voice in a different way. Maybe in the future she can find a better balance so it’s still definitely her but different. Sort of like how The Fame had her experimenting with different voice styles. Ever since TFM she’s locked in her vocal style for all her pop albums.

She's more present in the song than it appears first listen, chorus and verses either harmonizing or providing backing vocals or both.

Her voice is pushed back yet still there, specially in the chorus it seems that she's is singing from a different room to Doechii/Bruno response. I'm guessing it is intentional to blend in rather than take over.
