Fans widely speculate that Lana Del Rey's 2023 Waffle House appearance was a shade towards Ethel Cain, who was famously dubbed "The Most Famous Girl at the Waffle House" in a 2022 New York Times profile. The feud, seemingly confirmed by Lana's 2025 song lyrics mentioning this title, stems from tensions over similar social media poses.

In July 2023, Lana Del Rey went viral for wearing a Waffle House uniform and serving customers in Alabama. Fans connected this to a May 2022 New York Times profile of singer Ethel Cain titled “The Most Famous Girl at the Waffle House”. Many interpreted Lana's actions as a way to "dethrone" or mock Cain, effectively showing she is the actual famous figure at the chain. A 2025 unreleased song snippet from Lana contains the lyrics: "The most famous girl at the Waffle House / I don't regret it / The most famous girl at the Waffle House," alongside lines referencing Cain, which added fuel to this speculation.

Given how she wrote a whole diss song about Gaga before her own career took off, It makes me believe this speculation heavily. But my wanna be impartial ass side wants to believe it can also just be a reach from people but I admit I know Nothing.
