It was sent to Gaga and Bloodpop, then they used it for Chromatica. So in this whole process, an array of songwriters would have also contributed to it and had been given credit. Moreover, songwriting is not just lyrics, it also includes the structure of the song and production. Edited March 30 by Chromanne 1

StrawberryBlond 15,403
Here's the biggest examples I could find: 10 - FourFiveSeconds (by Rihanna, Kanye West & Paul McCartney), Needed Me (by Rihanna), Limbo (by Jason Derulo & Lay Bankz), Barbie Dangerous (by Nicki Minaj), Pink Birthday (by Nicki Minaj), Just The Memories (by Nicki Minaj), Turn Up The Music (by Chris Brown), Booty (Jennifer Lopez feat. Pitbull/Iggy Azalea), Ring Off (by Beyonce), Ya Ya (by Beyonce) 11 - Cheers Drink To That (by Rihanna), Red Ruby da Sleeze (by Nicki Minaj), All Night (by Beyonce), Don't Wake Me Up (by Chris Brown) 12 - Sine From Above (Gaga and Elton John), 6 Inch (Beyonce & The Weeknd), Keys To The Kingdom (Tiwa Savage & Mr Eazi) 13 - Cozy (by Beyonce), Ameriican Requiem (by Beyonce) 14 - Drunk In Love remix (by Beyonce, Jay Z & Kanye), Mood 4Eva (by Beyonce, Jay Z, Childish Gambino feat. Oumou Sangare) 15 - Hold Up (by Beyonce), Energy (by Beyonce), Heated (by Beyonce) 16 - Spicy Margarita (by Jason Derulo feat. Michael Buble) 22 - Alien Superstar (by Beyonce) 24 - Hurricane (Kanye West feat. The Weeknd & Lil Baby) You can see some artists have multiple entries and some have more than others. Beyonce, with 12, has the most, HOWEVER...I forgot about Kanye at the last minute. He only has one solo entry, the final one and I included that purely because, from what I can see, it's his most packed songwriters roll call but here's the thing, if I had to list all his most stacked songwriting tracks, this list would take all night. Put it this way, every album he's made since 2010 could make this list. He far outstrips Beyonce in this metric. So, yeah, Beyonce shouldn't be the reference to who has the biggest amount of writers on a track. It's Kanye.

This is actually so ridiculous it makes me wonder if there is another piece to the puzzle that we don't know about. Like are they just crediting people who were around on the day as a kindness so they can give their friends some money? Is there a technicality where anyone simply involved in the discussion on writing day has to be given a small credit? Do people like Beyoncé have so many unstructured 'writing camp' days that they literally forget who helped with some songs and just say 'f.uck it, I don't need the money, it's a technicality, just throw them all on there to cover our assses legally'? I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.

For her specifically at least: she uses a lot of samples and interpolation; everyone who got credit for the originals get added to the list. She frequently mixes parts of 2 or 3 songs from her writers into one on top of her initial original idea; everyone credited for those 2 or 3 songs also get added. If people are in the studio while she's recording and have a suggestion on how a run should go or how long a note is held that ends up helpful to the final product, they get added too. That's why many people are credited on her projects and why its a little annoying to consistently see that used as a slight against her creative process. Do people like Beyoncé have so many unstructured 'writing camp' days that they literally forget who helped with some songs and just say 'f.uck it, I don't need the money, it's a technicality, just throw them all on there to cover our assses legally'? Naturally, if there's multiple people featured on the songs, they'll have written their own verses. And Beyonce is famous for using 2 or more samples per song, so all the original writers need to be credited. Even if there's just 3 writers for each sampled track, that's 6 right off the bat and add in a rap feature and an extra professional songwriter or two and you've got 10 credits before you know it. So, even if those OGs didn't play a part in writing this song explicitly, their credit is there in name only, making sure they get paid, but they're not meant to be regarded as someone who was doing studio time. When it comes to sampling, I couldn't be bothered with crediting all those people so one sample per song is plenty. To have 15 credits is embarrasing, to have more than 20 just makes you look as if you have very little role in your art. But yeah, some songwriters are of the belief that anyone who played a role in that song, even if it was just a word change, should get credit. Some of Gaga's co-writers have claimed that her songs are basically all her, but they contain more credits purely because she insists everyone who played a role in that song, no matter how minor, gets credit and that most artists aren't this generous.
