TEANUS 16,109
Bad Romance for me… Judas, Born This Way, Marry The Night, Dance In the Dark, Abracadabra, 1000 Doves (the bridge is great I’m sorry), Poker Face, G.U.Y., Perfect Illusion, etc. are some other 10/10 bridges though British social ladies with upturned pinkies, glasses clinking // xoxoTEANUS
Ophelia 5,265
Even though I have a BTW-bias and it absolutely has my favorite lyrics out of all albums, TFM takes the cake for me. My first thought? Monster. Add Bad Romance and Dance in the Dark to that mix. Unbeatable ...has anybody seen my disco stick?

xxxdreams 168
To answer the poll, I feel like the most iconic Gaga bridges are in Mayhem That album is ABUNDANT with incredible bridges. They feel good to listen to and add something to a song, because in my opinion some bridges add nothing to a song other than extending the runtime and they don’t feel that good to listen to, especially if the rest of the song is nothing special or just fine. The song that’s guilty of this from Mayhem for example is Garden Of Eden. I think that song is fine, but it didn’t need another pre-chorus to be belted as a bridge. If I had to give another answer to the poll, It'd be ARTPOP. To answer the question, there are definitely a lot of songs to choose from, but I would probably land on G.U.Y as the best bridge. EDIT: I thought about this post for a good minute, and my answer already changed atleast 10 times. I just can’t make up my mind. Sigh. Intriguing … I enjoy the perspective; admittedly, I’ve felt that there is a bit of a recency bias (albeit practical) with Gaga’s repertoire … so, in my mind I’ll think “Well, of course [insert later album / work here] is more polished, cohesive, structurally sound than [insert earlier album / work here] because Gaga, as an artist, endeavors (and has thus far succeed) to continuously evolve and develop her creative work and identity … songwriting and production should (and often do) reflect that fundamental process of progession (and not always building more maximalist or amplified approaches, sometimes her evolution excavates or exhumes depths of interiority) … but, all of that is to say … How you explore MAYHEM and ARTPOP (which, much appreciate the delve, as I forgot how complementary these albums operate in conversation with one another) … invited this sense of atmosphere (which, to your point, the ABUNDANCE), it feels like how you express the dynamic or immersion into the bridge feel (and/or form/function within the song) reflects how the atmospheres she builds around (within?) the bridges have evolved … the instrumental environment that embodies the backdrop or imagery to balance or house the lyrics of the bridge … a sort of essential emphasis shift in primacy from words to melody or harmonic progressions … but, all of that is to say … I don’t know if this made sense in context, but/and/so I much appreciate the vantage … Bless, up, G.U.Y. … the echelon feels Spoiler Just curious, which song from MAYHEM do you feel has the most iconic bridge? EDIT: the endless iterations of canon iconography one encounters in said consideration … she’ll t-t-t-take you to the garden of escher Reveal hidden contents Thank you for your reply! English is not my mother tongue, so please be aware that I might have misunderstood some parts of your response. Anyway, I think I actually answered the question incorrectly. I gave an answer to the question “Gaga’s best song bridges in your opinion” rather than iconic bridges. Iconic means something emblematic of a genre or era, widely recognized and admired, and considered representative of that genre or era. It refers to something renowned, legendary, or classic that holds enduring and symbolic significance. The best bridges from Mayhem are from one of these songs: Abracadabra, Perfect Celebrity, Killah, Don’t Call Tonight, or The Beast. There are good bridges in other songs from Mayhem, but if we are talking about the very best ones, it is definitely one of these, subjectively. The most iconic bridges are probably from one of these songs, though I might be missing one or two: Bad Romance, Poker Face, LoveGame, Just Dance, Born This Way, or Judas. I actually don’t know what makes or breaks a bridge for me. I just can’t put it into words, and there isn’t really a clear metric for it. It’s about the overall musical and lyrical experience, but it doesn’t always have to be consistent. For example, Garden of Eden is a fine song in my opinion, but the bridge is bad because it drags on a decent song with what feels like another pre-chorus lyrically, and I don’t enjoy the musical experience in that part. It takes away rather than adding something. But in The Beast, she can repeat a line from a verse four times and I’m instantly hooked. The way the song builds up, the way she delivers the lines, the outcome, and the way the song has been progressing up to that point all come together to make a great bridge. It’s a strong musical and lyrical experience. It doesn’t feel like it’s dragging. I actually look forward to that moment while listening to it, and I can’t say the same about Bloody Mary’s bridge going “dum dum da di da” or whatever. I still feel like I haven’t made myself very clear. I can’t fully explain it, but I know how I feel.
