The only reason I do not listen to Die With A Smile anymore is simply fatigue from having it on repeat for months after its release It's hard to light a candle, easy to curse the dark instead. 1

BLOODANDSEMEN 375
Rude Some of us love Gaga for who she is and her journey. BOG isn’t a song I listen to regularly at all, but I love it because it is very special to her and clearly a song that means a lot. I want her to be happy. Ah, to be fair, this one wasn’t in blind disdain or empty antagonism or anything … it’s kind of weird probably, but, melodrama aside, and I don’t know why, but listening to Blade of Grass, there’s a deep visceral pang or melancholy … I know music evokes emotion, and the composition or design of chords, progressions, cadences, frequencies, etc. directly influences how we feel (physically and emotionally), but, yeah, at an intrinsic/endemic level, Blade of Grass feels like post-glamorous cruelty maybe (in context of the album … somewhere in the vein of how she described the album as a night out and each song being a gothic dream in the overall sequence … it’s the abyss beneath the kaleidoscopic chaos) … kind of like the intro to the G.U.Y. music video when she’s in that field during the ARTPOP intro, the desolation, and, yeah … or Dope but even more descended … the instrumental evoked some sense of Air’s work with The Virgin Suicides soundtrack … or like Requiem for a Dream, it feels like its meant to be learned from, not necessarily lived in—Requiem is a riveting film, but I don’t want that rivet on steady rotation (if that makes any sense) … so, when I thought about it in context of silence, it’s sort of aligned in its own way, because I was like … wow, that’s kind of it, after listening to Blade of Grass, silence is literally so soothing … if nothing else, in direct context of the song itself, I’m like … silence feels like the dawn after this Stygian dirge … or as a listener, in the audience of the song, it’s wanting her or this character to not have to be in that space anymore, like the song as a chapter conveyed exactly what it needed to, and so let’s move toward resolution … but, all of this is to say … thus is why “often” is not “always” the most reasonable in the room of record reflections … and I’ve only listened to it twice so, there’s that footnote Also … I just vibed with the Five Foot Two frame, and it made me chuckle, a lil’ levity in synonymous context … but, I hadn’t actually delved into why it vibed in context of the comparison until you called me out so, obrigado

I’m pretty sure she wouldn’t care, or she would even laugh Don’t worry, she’s not crying over some fans “hating” one of her deep cuts, she’s got 15 GRAMMYs 1 1
