gagacabana 2,961
I'm a huge Janelle Monáe fan and as a newbie I've yet to see some noise about her so I think her best album is objectively TAOP but as of her magnum opus, I'd say it's The ArchAndroid. Dirty Computer absolutely changed 16 year old little lesbian me so I'm now at a dilemma I don't believe in the glorification of murder, I do believe in the empowerment of women
gagacabana 2,961
And of course, as a diva worshipper homosexual, I've made a playlist with her songs that are somewhat related to Gaga's I don't believe in the glorification of murder, I do believe in the empowerment of women
RAMROD 114,511
Her first three albums eats. The rest are just noises (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ✧*:・゚ goddamn this noise inside my head (*´艸`*) ♡♡♡ 1

SS77 2,106
The ArchAndroid is a cinematic, genre-fluid masterpiece. It literally held me over until Born This Way came out

Onlygaga 1,658
My introduction to Janelle was Many Moons so I may be biased here, but Metropolis has to be my favorite
Bronco 19,204
Dirty Computer is her best because it captures her unique concept and actually does it succinctly within one album. The gays know how to party 1 1
bxr 1,245
Dirty Computer and The ArchAndroid exist in that solar lunar symbiotic resonance, for me, so to deprive one of the other would be utter mayhem Also, Take A Byte into Garden of Eden on the playlist—vibes; “Poison apple, take a bite” always felt like it carried that Dirty Computer undertone … actually, in that same lyrical-adjacent lane, Sour Candy (“Take a bite, take a bite”) could work after Electric Chapel 1
Agunimon 466
ArchAndroid for me. Second would be The Electric Lady.
TheSine 6,533
Finally, a thread for me. ArchAndroid is one of HER BEST albums of all time. Not only does it showcase her musical talent and range, her storytelling also just as wonderful. And let's not forget the Tightrope music video. The Age Of Pleasure is recent, but it's also one of my favorites and I haven't skipped it once. It's just a fun, low cortisol album. Safe to say she still got it. 💛 1
garbage day 11,664
Dirty Computer takes it. I love how incredibly cerebral her earlier work is, but the shift to being much more personal with this album AND incorporating the ongoing concept is just
