He doesn't state they are underappreciated. Those are two very different things with two different motivations. And given the context is him saying he would not want to work in those areas - what leads you to believe he appreciates them or sees them as underappreciated? And on what information do you base this? Because it isn't what he said, and he actively said he doesn't want to do that art form. His prior comment to the Opera comment makes his attitude even clearer. "if people want to see it, like Barbie, like Oppenheimer, they're going to go see it and go out of their way to be loud and proud about it.” So, there's nothing in the interview to suggest he holds a positive view of the artforms.
