He was trying to make a bigger point that movies/movie theaters could fall into obscurity and irrelevancy the same way opera and ballet did and he doesn’t want that for his craft. His mother is a professional ballet dancer and both she and his sister studied at the American School of Ballet. I feel like he and Doja have almost the same views on this, he just explained his point horribly and it got taken out of context.
