Yes it is a health issue that can effect anyone, but the simple fact is that it is predominantly effecting MSM at the moment. Yes MSM visit STI clinics more than other groups, this is predominantly because of lessons and targeted education built on the AIDS epidemic. But equally, there is far more casual sex amongst MSM. Be it via app based hookup, club hookups, cruising or sex clubs & saunas etc. So we both see higher rates of diagnosis (and take up of preventative treatment) in this community, but we equally see higher statistical rates of risky sex (the gay community has been its own worst enemy with the way its trivialised PrEP and barebacking when it comes to non-HIV STI risks).
