Britney Spears was arrested last night for driving under the influence

Britney Spears was arrested for a DUI on Wednesday night in Ventura County, Calif., Variety has confirmed.

The singer was handcuffed by the California Highway Patrol around 9:30 p.m. and booked early Thursday morning around 3 a.m. She has since been released and is scheduled to appear in court on May 4.

Oh Gosh… u feel really bad for her. 
Wasn’t she supposed to leave the country to live somewhere else?

Why isn’t she getting the proper care she needs? The conservatorship clearly f*cked her up and you can tell she’s lost her sense of self.

I truly hope she gets the *right* help she needs so she can at the very least live her life in peace instead of anguish.

I’ve read so many stories claiming that she abuses alcohol. 
I’m so sad that it’s possibly true. I never wanted to believe it. 
 

Not to Sh!t stir because I love Britney and want the best for her.

This is why I we can't blame her kids and frame them as 'using her for money' or 'abandoning her'. She's been through sh*t but its her responsibility now to heal however works for her.

The conservatorship did damage, she was abused. But her reluctancy to seek help (valid given she probably see's help as abuse) will lead her into situations like this.

not to be parasocial but I remember the first time after her conservatorship ended when she posted a pic with a glass of wine, I was like “… uh oh.” Alcohol just isn’t good for some of us.

Always wishing the best for her, but also driving under the influence is not okay and I’m just glad she didn’t hurt herself or others. But I hope she learns from this, whatever the punishment may be.
