In all fairness, COADF 1 isn't entirely upbeat. 
Dance music yes, but the majority of the tracks are kind of similar to this description of being deeply personal and political

The most fundamental characteristic of a living thing is reproduction. Even viruses, which aren’t fully “alive”, find ways to replicate themselves. Sex IS life!
