She had her peak (when it comes to quantity) when those were a big thing on the music industry. From that moment til now, she kinda slowed it down. I think she's way more interested in making good music and visual tours

If SL is stupid love lmao that gotta be one of the worst mvs to have ever been made, whereas Eh Eh is camp. Again the messiness of g.u.y. is the best part. Disease might be Gaga's most well directed and performed, most cohesive, profound and personal mv of all to date, wdym with non-developed lmao. Agree on tdd & dwas & jw I love that there is discussion. Yes, SL is stupid love and I'm glad we agree on that one. TEOG looks very improvised, unplanned, like the camera starts going into one direction and Gaga into another, that looks messy for the audience, not in a good way. I do not mind it being simple (but I don't like the camera work), Gaga with Clarence Clemons is cute though. The G.U.Y. had wayyy too much stuff going on, like she was trying to made up for not putting out a video for DWUW and maybe to make a point that she can do better videos than those funded by interscope. I think it would be great if some scenes were omitted, love the storyline with the cloned guys, but when you put into mix sooooooo many other stuff that was going on there I feel confused. Disease lacked storyline and actual people (and probably settings). It could have worked, but honestly the video was not praised e.g. if we compare it to 911 (a song that was not a hit but video was very well received by both critics and fans). Dance. Sex. Art. Pop. She had her peak (when it comes to quantity) when those were a big thing on the music industry. From that moment til now, she kinda slowed it down. I think she's way more interested in making good music and visual tours For some reason, I feel like to this point, something feels like she’s going to revive the music visual format in her 40s — to think that MTN, G.U.Y., Paparazzi, Applause, etc … and the tour interludes … and the fashion films … even the conceptual approach to the transmissions from a serial vlog episodic space … were her prototypes in her 20s and 30s … is kind of unreal. Then her career trajectory shifted (circa/post-Lady by Day, Gaga by Night: ARTPOP, Cheek to Cheek) and reputation recovery (film, tv, sponsorships, award campaigns, etc.) took precedent, but that adaptability meant sidelining the top-line creative output for commercial / critical / corporate support. So, now it feels like she is able to give herself back to her own creative north star more fully, with everything that paved her anthology thus far as seeds for this future grove so to speak … to know that she feels revitalized in her own reintroduction to her musical muse or creative spark presents such a vast range of potential for her entire sonic aesthetic moving forward … I think a visual album is a completely viable avenue for return to and revival of her signature form in ways that eclipse even our own present overestimations of her existing work … and, lest we forget as far as industry designation, this is someone who told record labels straight-up that they didn’t know what pop was because they told her she wasn’t pop (pre-poker face)) but … again, i never know, just musing here … 11 hours ago, ARTSEX said: I love that there is discussion. It could have worked, but honestly the video was not praised e.g. if we compare it to 911 (a song that was not a hit but video was very well received by both critics and fans). Slightly random consideration crossed the radar when I was reading through the G.U.Y. notes, but there’s something distinct but subtle about the ARTPOP MV collection’s radical conceptual integrity — there is an (possibly unintended at the outset but incorporated given necessary adaptation eventually) understated something about Applause and G.U.Y. as quite literal expressions of ART (Applause) [and] POP (G.U.Y.) as pillars of the project from a MV perspective … the timing, as well and the direct relationship between Applause and G.U.Y. (in immediate creative pov (Inez and Vinoodh vs. Gaga as directors alone is a whole symbolic discourse) and from the broader context of her personal and cultural narratives) are quite brilliant representations of ARTPOP in practical reality through her own evolution throughout the campaign itself … I don’t know if this is relevant to your point, but it crossed my mind when I was reading your commentary; in its own way, the MVs themselves sort of seemed to become more indicative of their respective eras as her career progressed (BTW’s sheer output is prolific if not polarizing and somewhat bricolage, TFM is structured intentional and disciplined (even Telephone is disciplined in its pulp fiction camp social critique), Joanne, and so on … (Also, post-script co-sign: huzzahs and justice for discussion ) 1
