I would adore something that explores the genuine sounds of late 80s/ early 90s house/dance pop music. Give me the house piano from abracadabra, the beats of the free woman demo, and the edge of disease and her dark pop

Slow introspective electronica + a few slow synthy original jazz songs?

i'd love to see her do something like "debut" by bjork but that's never happening

i'd like to see her do something colder than mayhem

mayhem was very warm for me

I'd bet one of my hands to be cut off that she'll do a MAYHEM 2.0 for LG8

I think the fun-dark-pop thing was something we wanted and what we got was an immature version of The Fame Monster with more vocal diversity and filler at the end.

To be honest the most of what made Mayhem seem good is the era, but not the music. The album itself is very front loaded with a few good songs, then a back half thats kind of cheesy and boring, and a final track that was obviously latched on.

I do not want anything like that again.

I actually would pick another Chromatica over another Mayhem because even though you all hate Chromatica is was: -better thought out -more cohesive -more "her", less her fiance -conceptually interesting and more could have been done with it's universe.

To me, Mayhem pretty much creatively capped after she skipped doing another single and then pushed the corny commercial attempt at The Dead Dance.  She literally didn't have the problem she had with Chromatica (a pandemic), and she actively chose not to expand the universe further. That feels like a misdirection in terms of artistry (beyond commercial reasons.) Whereas I feel like even through the pandemic Gaga still tried to world build Chromatica a little- even the Oreo thing was late into the era but it still showed her integrating in obscure and new ways. The Dawn of Chromatica example. The not giving up on a late tour HBO release. She gave it stretch.

Yes it had some generic productions but so does Mayhem tbh you all just don't want to accept that. Alot of the middle of mayhem and the andrew watt stuff is the 70s/80s tinged sound that has largely infiltrated pop lately. it was not at all innovative.

but tbh I think she could do a better Chromatica.

What I want is an album with the structure of Chromatica, the bitchyness/fearlessness of TFM, and then elevate it with some really cutting edge producers with new sounds and some genuine sonic risks, combined with lyrics that actually talk about a new topic that requires resistance for her.

I can't emotionally sink that deep into Mayhem because I feel like these are all less-deep versions of things we already went super deep on.

Where has she not dug into yet? What can we dig up and shed some light on that we haven't yet, Gaga?

In the end it is all up to her. But as someone who doesn't just see Gaga as an artist but as a person as well, I want her to ****ing SAY SOMETHING again. Important. Truth telling. Bold. Daring. Nothing about Mayhem pushed anything sonically, lyrically, visually, conceptually for me and that is a big problem I think. Even songs like Replay, 911, Plastic Doll, 1000 Doves, Sine From Above all lyrically touch deeper into the psyche of Gaga more than Mayhem ever does. The only song on Mayhem that does this for me truly is Perfect Celebrity-which is obviously the original concept she gave up on after Michael pushed her in the 80's/funk direction.

I don't know. You don't need no man Gaga. It's cute you found one and I know he pulled you out of the fire. But things are cool again now. Show these bitches why you are Gaga.

Not to be disrespectful but I stopped reading when you said we got "an immature version of The Fame Monster"

The way some of you write essays on what you desire next from her when it'd be shorter and easier to say you just want her to do over and over again Bad Romance to gag at it... Just say you want the cunty Gaga back and give it a go

And you're one of the dismissive monsters who ride her ass and everything she does and probably drove her to write songs like Fun Tonight.

Really funny to say such a thing because you were the one being unsatisfied on MAYHEM and critizing it - her most recent project -, and cheering up Chromatica - the album she got the least involved in -. Are you projecting with that "ride her ass" thing or? Yikes.

No diva because that wouldn't be the same. Because again, if you had read what I wrote, I didn't blindly support Chromatica as some perfect work that I should just sit and be content with...

I literally said I want a better Chromatica. Which insinuates that I also do not think that is perfect either.

Ok so you're actually admitting you're the one riding her ass, then? Since you don't like MAYHEM and are not completely satisfied with the previous one.

how are you not getting that you are the one riding her ass by just blindly liking anything she does, and I am the one critiquing it? Thinking What GIF

English ain't my mother tongue but to my knowledge riding someone's ass means to constantly criticise that certain someone. And apparently to WordReference too. But if you meant the contrary, like cheering her up for everything she does, you clearly didn't read all my opinions on her. My take on The Fame Monster - a well known one on this forum - is a good example on that. Lol

SweetCrystal

I’m interested to hear her authentic artistic voice. It feels like a while since we’ve gotten that. Genres and labels don’t interest me.
I get that it’s fun to collaborate and probably a little more comforting when you know millions of people are going to listen to what you release.
She may prefer to work with a big team and that’s fine. Maybe that is who she has become as an artist.
