I’ve said it before on here on random threads but i really want her to do a lower tempo album where she utilises her vocals in a different way. Don’t get me wrong I live for her belting but i want to see more of her lower register shine and her take on more calm vocals. Sonically wise I can point to some of Lana Del Rey’s more uptempo songs, retro madonna (Human Nature for ex).

In a sentence - sensual pop with electronic synths playing along analog drums and instruments.

I’d love a full length, original Harlequin style project, but tbh, I’d prefer something more hamfisted + quasi-metal

I have to say during the tour and with her being engraved into TikTok and watching and almost relearning her past self and recognizing who tf she really was/is, I think the next album is gonna be her at her fullest potential if she goes back to electro dance.

Also I think the idea of “committing to a sound” is a double edged sword. BTW commits to a production aesthetic while still having genre eclecticism, which I think is a strength, whereas Chromatica commits to a sparse, boilerplate 2010s pop-house revival sound, which is a massive weakness. Ultimately, even though they’re not mutually exclusive, if you asked me if I wanted cohesive or I wanted high quality, I’d pick high quality.

Agreed. She even kind of explained that in that Zane Lowe interview when she stated she made the effort to not commit to a sound/vibe specifically. Wherever she goes next I just hope she at least keeps that in mind cause one of the best things on MAYHEM imo is precisely that
