bim 797
No one should be groping anyone. Whether you’re gay or straight or Shia or the president or anyone. His abusive past does not mean he deserves it back. Excuses for one allows excuses for all. Don’t grope. Don’t get violent. Don’t abuse. Period. This should not be a debate.
BrandyFinest 872
Straight men hate gay men in this way so much because the mere existence of gay men makes them CONSIDER the possibility of being in the positions women usually are. Of being constantly hit on and desired by others. Whether or not gay men actually harass straight men en masse (they don't) is irrelevant, straight men still fear going through the same things women go through by their hands. I'd suggest we don't believe someone who's lying about what he's been arrested for though. He alleges 3 men touched him at that moment in the bar when he kicked off. But the police allege that he actually turned abusive as a result of being asked to leave the R Bar in New Orleans. The police allege that his behaviour had been ramping up for a sustained period of time throughout the time he was at the bar. There is also videos from the bar that have been seen by the Guardian where Shia is getting aggressive with bar staff. The 3 men assaulted by him include the bar manager who was escorting him out for abusive behavior to staff and someone who came to support the bar manager as Shia attacked him. Having then got him outside, he then went back into the bar and attacked another bar patron and repeatedly called him a f*ggot. He has now been arrested again on a seperate battery charge, for a different violent outburst at the same bar where he's accused of head butting a man and shouting homophobic slurs at him 10 days before the incident on the 17th of February. And there are numerous other stories coming out now of him spending mardi gras in nola causing a nusiance in various bars due to being intoxicated. He also has done this exact same routine of getting drunk, causing a disturbance in a public place and then hurling homophobic slurs at people having been arrested for it in NYC in 2014. https://www.theguardian.com/film/2026/mar/01/shia-labeouf-alleged-assaults-homophobic-slurs Edited March 2 by Bronco Added link The gays know how to party 3

With previous arrests including racial abuse, SA allegations, emotional abuse and physical abuse. So given he has over a decade of abusive alcohol induced crimes under his belt, I just find it hard to believe that this situation is exactly as what he claims. Because I've been around enough drunks & alcoholics in my personal life and during my time working on bars to know that people like him misread situations due to their inebriation and their first response is violence every time. I've seen plenty of occasions where drunks like him have lashed out at someone for touching them and it was just the person trying to walk past them in a crowded bar etc. And...like this case went to court. In a highly homophobic state. And the judge ruled against him and has forced him to take substance-abuse treatment and screening. This. Even if he is correct, then an abuser faced what he has put on to others. For example, if Andrew Tate got assaulted, I honestly wouldn't feel a thing. That would just be karma. he/him/his
Economy 52,890
Well hes probably being dramatic anyways and the way hes wording this does in facr suggest homophobia... However, I will just say if there is any grain of truth in what hes saying (which in prison would not be shocking if so tbh), it is also not ok if those gay men were touching him without consent and thats perfectly good grounds to get unconfortable. It is also not shocking a straight man would be extra unconfortable with unsolicited sexual attention they definitely dont want Two wrong things can be true at once

If a lesbian woman would say the same thing about straight men touching her, I think we’d all be on her side Yeah this is kinda what i was getting at in my comment above. Lime the way he worded it is kinda jackass and suggests he may in fact be a little homophobic But that doesnt mean hes totally in the wrong to feel unconfortable if they were giving him unsolicited and unwanted sexual attention (assuming his version of the story has any truth to it) Im not gonna judge hard one way or the other cuz id have to see if those guys really did that or not and none of us know. But it would not be shocking to me if so as prison is notorious for sexual abuse

Well yeah, no one is gonna like this man or woman, and its so true that women go thru it way more But i think thats kind of irrelevant. Unless ur a sexual abuser yourself, its not fair for someone to hit you back with the narrative that you deserve to experience it to see what ur gender has historically done to the other if you yourself were never a part of that group doing the harrasing Thats assuming Shia never did of course, which given what ive learned about his character would not shock me if he hasnt always behaved when it comes to this But my point is purely on the angle of your generalized comment. I dont think any one individual deserves scruitiny for hypocratism over something associated with behaviour from their gender unless they as an individual were also part of that generalized behaviour (cuz plent of men are also not guilty of it)

I never said it was deserved. But you also shouldn't saying this Shia Labeouf who, pretty infamously, does abuse and harass women. And I criticize straight men who fear harassment specifically from gay men because they can never connect the dots that women also go through that, and that sexual harassment is wrong no matter what. The main perpetrators of the whole "every gay men wants to harass every single straight bro" are misogynistic/ queerphobic manosphere types, who either laugh off the sexual harassment that women and queer people go through, or partake in it. They'll also downplay the sexual abuse that boys go through if its a woman, by saying drivel like "He's lucky bro" and other equally insensitive garbage. But they'll always be in such a worry about gay men harassing them, not knowing the irony at all. It just doesn’t sit well with me that I’m seeing a lot of discourse all over the internet of people saying ‘well now you know how it feels’ or ‘you deserve it’ in response. And I appreciate that you’re telling the full story with receipts of his behavior both in the context of this current situation and the past. I was referring to him (and our president and all other people who feel they can do what they want) when I said don’t get violent and don’t abuse. I just stand firmly in the belief that if he was groped, it’s not a deserved action regardless of his history. It’s similar to Kelly Osbourne. Just because she was cruel to people shouldn’t give people an excuse to do it back. It’s a very slippery slope when we start giving people passes.
