I want to believe they're purposefully trying to drum up some controversy so they become more relevant instead of just making these decisions

I mean I doubt it.

Korea as a society embraces tech way more than western societies due to the nature of its main employment sources.

I doubt the korean team behind this even thought about the idea it was controversial.

This is a very interesting discussion because the point of hating AI in video production is taking someone else jobs but what if they add it as a tool instead of replacing a human being? is it slop?

There are MANY more reasons to hate AI. Taking jobs is just a drop in the bucket…oh wait there is no water left to drop

IWe just have to accept that AI is the new thing and its here to stay. More and more people are using it every day and that includes those in the music industry to save costs while delivering otherworldly visuals.

I can accept it in the sense that I won't be surprised to find out someone used it, but I don't think it's particularly skillful or good looking to use AI. I'm not going to lower my standards to applaud something I think is lame.

im sure gaga is going to use ai in the future

what the difference between using AI and using a green screen like gaga did for basd romance?

Is this a genuine question where you don't understand how greenscreen works?

Or just a false equivalent?

that's what I was wondering, I've been in vfx for over 15 years, some green screen shots can take days just to literally clean them up but so many people still think it's magically done and someone tells the computer what they want to replace it with

If you have to ask that then :neyde:

ok so ai uses algorithms while green screen uses physical technology? so

ai is rapidly advancing

soon most jobs will be AI, even surgeries will be controlled by AI technology

yall need to accept when ai is so advanced, its going to be part of everything. technology is evolving, while youre stuck in the 90s

Do you work with AI?

Because this reads like the marketing pitch we give to the people who don't understand AI.

AI has hit a major roadblock. AI has been rushed and as a result is hallucinating.

The vast majority of AI models created by companies to assist their business processes have failed.

A study published last month found that AI had produced no efficiencies in companies that had introduced it. It had simply replaced entry level jobs and performed no better and required more supervision.

AI isn't even financially viable yet. The major AI companies are financed on billions of debt with no profit or plans to achieve profit. And the billions invested in AI have all been directed to a few select Asian nations who produce computer parts - its produced no returns in the west as of yet.

AI is the future. But its a future we aren't at yet. What we have right now is like Internet 1.0 - doomed to collapse.

I work with AI.

Currently building an AI agent (agentic AI) for the charity I work for. It'll take our project delivery records and generate impact analysis for us.

Want a statistic I got through my job? Direct from Salesforce's last UK AI conference?

96% of all AI pilot projects by their clients have failed.

this post is not even talking about using it in companies to replace humans in this context. were talking about it being used for to create visuals for a music video. of course it cant replace humans in their jobs in its current state but plenty of ppl have used it to make visuals for videos.

me mentioning it being used to replace humans in jobs was me talking about the future not the current state of AI....

also yes its not perfect but according to google heres a few things ai is used for in life today as we know it

Virtual Assistants & Smart Homes: Tools such as Amazon Alexa, Apple Siri, and Google Assistant, along with smart thermostats, use artificial intelligence to interpret voice instructions and learn users’ daily routines.

Navigation & Transportation: Applications like Google Maps, Waze, and ride-sharing platforms such as Uber and Lyft apply AI to process live traffic information, determine the fastest routes, and predict arrival times.

Social Media & Streaming: Platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Netflix, and Spotify depend on AI algorithms to tailor content feeds and suggest personalized recommendations.

Digital Communication & Productivity Tools: Artificial intelligence supports features like spam detection in email, predictive text and auto-completion, and automated language translation.

Online Shopping & Retail: E-commerce businesses use AI to recommend products, manage stock levels, and deliver targeted advertising.

Banking & Finance: Financial institutions use AI to track transactions for fraud prevention and enable mobile banking features such as check scanning.

Camera & Facial Recognition: Smartphones integrate AI to improve photo quality, unlock devices through facial recognition, and automatically organize and tag images.

Healthcare Wearables: Smartwatches and fitness trackers rely on AI to track health metrics, monitor vital signs, and analyze physical activity.

ai hasnt reached its full potential but its still evolving and its presence is undeniable. even if its not replacing humans in jobs - its still used in various ways

AI and Dr Luke (on the album not on this song), what a combo to launch this 15 minute "album" :triggered:

It's a mini album which in kpop terms means EP basically, other than that I agree...

Til the group's contract end they will most likely release a few low effort songs & videos and go on tour to make money. I see it more as financial security than actual desire to keep working as a group.

I know where AI is used. I literally work on making agentic AI systems.

I know the productivity benefits it can offer as well as the economic negatives it brings.

And a lot of these examples you talk about are decade old AI systems (we've all been using simplistic AI for over a decade now) not the generative AI that people oppose and is an increasingly more dangerous economic bubble.
