Highly recommend seeing this in a 4k display or monitor.

I mean, :koons::legend:

The masterpiece that this is. Besides TDD and Disease which came out already in 4k, I'm pretty sure this is Gaga's only video that was mastered in this quality. You can see it's completely native 4K (not AI upscaled) and I actually am impressed how they got a hold of this master. :thriller:

OMG: MagicGa, PierrotGa, MarilynGa, VenusGa and Goddess LegGa (lol) and also ApplauseBraGa and MattressGa (ok I'm done lol) (even tho B&W),  are so crisp and colorful and beautiful and you can see her facial expressions SO MUCH clearer, (notice MarilynGa running in place :abra: to me it felt like I was seeing the video for the first time again, honestly. :traumatica:

Whyyyyyy does YouTube suk this much to not update it yet? or is it Interscope's fault entirely? :patrizia: insiders or children of Netflix-working moms, please do something about this if y'all can.

I think the fanbase and world deserves it. /rant

it's amazing how well this video and song ages (doesn't). the references are just an insane homage to art and cinema, wbk. so, also another Applause appreciation thread. :vegas::bye:

Im still shocked how bad of a quality Bad Romance is, when we have videos from early 2000's that look so good compared to it

Madonna, The Spice Girls and Blur are a few of the artists I can think from top of my head who have videos from literally 30 years ago (or more :madge: lol no shade Love ha) that are completely remastered. It's just not right. They need to get it together.

Even I as a 15 year old in 2009 had an HD camera, they shot on film so it can be scanned very high but it depends if anyone on her team or Interscope would invest the time and money (unless they have an original export in high res sitting around somewhere)

For Applause I'm sure it's Interscope, youtube allowed them and other artists to replace older music videos in higher quality a few years ago which they did, but they likely were only interested in replacing SD with HD rather than HD with 4K

Gaga probably doesn't care... Would be amazing to have 4K or even real HD videos, they just upscaled LoveGame while it has real HD version leaked. :madge:

I was confused back then why her live performances of Bad Romance were more clear and HQ and than the original video

Man does this bring back memories of Youtubes "HQ" button which was like 360P :ladyhaha:

 

It used to be such a dilema. 360P would give you less bad pixels (which was still awful looking back at it but at the time was amazing) but then it would always lag so id have to change it back to 240P where it didnt hag but pixels got worse :rip:

Btw, Spotify music video quality is way better than YouTube

Applause looks closer to 4K quality than 1080p there! :queenga:
